Fast forward to the ride.
Other than the engine of the bus and the headphones blaring, total silence.
But you know better.
Each person on that bus is fighting a battle inside themselves.
Fighting off the pain, thoughts that don't belong out there.
You see the sign that you are entering their territory, and you get that feeling that you're not welcome.
But you just smile, that defiant "Who gives a damn" smile.
It's almost here.
