Two month's has past by, I finally gave in and moved Layla and I into the house August bought me. Since I've been working long hours, I had to put Layla in DayCare. She didn't wanna go but, hey I gotta do what I gotta do. She getting to like it, though.
August and I have been hanging out, a lot now. He has been coming over, more often. I'm starting to think he bought this house, just so he could come over all the time. Literally, all the times. He might as well move in.
Like now, Layla is at Daycare and he is here now, bothering me.
"Ma, ma? Demarie, just think about it."
"Don't you know, your annoying?" I joke.
"Mane, ya'll fe- Look, just give a nigga a chance. Ion usually sweat females like this. It's just something about you, that's attracting me to you. Believe me if you was any other fee, I wouldn't give a fuck. Just give a chance, I promise I won't fuck up." August says.
I smiled.
"You know 'promise' is a strong word?" I say, questionly. He just looked at me.
"Okay...I'll give you a chance, but..."
"But?"
"But we gotta take it one step at a time because I don't wanna get my heart broken again."
"Iight ma. I gotchu'."
"You better not fuck up 'cause you're still earning my trust. I will fuck you up." I say, honestly.
He chuckled.
"Iight. So, how about that date you owe me? Since you canceled on me, last time." He says.
"Tonight?" I ask.
He shrugged. "Yeah."
"Okay."
"Cool, imma come scoop you up after I leave the studio 'round 9. I'm finna shoot out."
He moved his arm from behind me, standing up. He grabbed his hat, leaning down kissing my cheek.
I smiled. "See you later, ma."
