Emma and Henry came back after a long day at the playground.
"How was it, buddy?" Emma asks as she plops onto their leather sofa.
"It was fun, momma." Henry says as he sits on his mothers lap.
"Good! Now what do you wanna do buddy?" Emma questions Henry.
"Play Hide 'n Seek!" Henry exclaims, getting up and jumping around.
Emma sighs.
"Fine. I'll count, you hide." Emma tells him as she starts to count.
"One...Two....Three..." She begins.
Henry is hiding in the other room.
....
"....Nineteen...Twenty!" Emma yells as she searches for her kid.
She checks the bathroom first. Emma looks in the cubbard, the shower, and the bathtub.
"Not in here." She says to herself casually.
Then Emma checks Henry's room. Under his bed, in his closet...
Henry pops out from inside his closet.
"Hehe I found you!!" Emma exclaims.
"I knew you would!" Henry says as he hugs her.
Something clicked in Emma's brain, like someone had said something just like it before. Someone she knew.
Or once knew.
