Minnie Chapter One

She tapped her scarred fingers on the beaten up wooden table, she grabbed her trembling hand to stop her involuntary movements and sighed. She slipped off her seat and got up to find her dog.

She was Minnie, not the mouse, the fifteen year old ‘mistake’ from London, she didn’t even look like a mouse or a beautiful Disney character, and she was plain. Her freckled cheeks barely ever turned up in to a smile and her ginger waves never left the sides of her face. She wore an ordinary pair of straight leg blue jeans and an unflattering aqua cotton shirt. She lived with her mum, her dad and her Labrador puppy Meme

Mr and Mrs Enfold were relatively normal people, John was a banker, and Sally was a school secretary. The had been married for 20 years when Minnie was born after being told they could never have children, hence Minnie thought as herself as a mistake, but to her parents she was a miracle.

There was one problem with Minnie’s life. She wasn’t ever happy, she wasn’t depressed or even unsatisfied with what she had been given throughout her fifteen years, and the thing was she just didn’t feel enthralled by anything.

This is Minnie’s story of discovering, of discovering herself, her likes, dislikes, traits and opinions.
