Pushing through the crowd I got to my locker. Teens needed to get home as much as I did. Just a second later I could feel Philip’s stare. I could always tell when it was him looking at me. My heart skipped a beat, making my stomach react with a somersault.
I turned around and saw a smile grow on his face as one did on mine. I decided to walk up to him; a little chat may bring us closer together.
“You look pretty happy today,” I said.
A glow came into his eyes as he replied, “I am. It’s a pretty great day,”
After that he fell silent. It was as if he forgot something.
We weren’t really close friends but I always felt something from him. A small connection that sparked between us. I wanted us to be closer. I couldn’t help but notice his eyes, they were lost. Those beautiful brown eyes were gone in some Wonderland.
Just a second later, confidence hit his face.
“Wanna go out?” he blurted out.
Hold on. He just asked me out. I can’t believe this. We barely talk, we are separate but connected. But, it’s just so unbelievable. My heart couldn’t help but jump.
“Sure,” I replied softly.
A sigh of relief came from him, his eyes looked so happy. I bet he was on cloud number nine… like me. I caught a little flash of doubt wipe across his face.
“I mean like on …like on a date type thing?” he asked for reassurance.
I guess he was as shocked as I was.
“Yeah, I got that,” I giggled a bit.
All I could do is smile and stare at his eyes. He did the same. Who knew that this guy actually liked me back? Oh my gosh.
