Glow and Grace

I make my way down through the park,

With only seconds left before the dark

Will slip away, ever so slow

And make way for the morning glow.

Barefoot, I feel the soil under my feet

My footsteps counted by the rustling of leaves.

A soft cold wind briefly makes its way down

Whispering goodbye to the night: 'tis time for morning now.

Then ever so slowly, shy in spite of itself,

The sun peeps through, out of its cozy dark shell.

Sending out rays of light, one by one it seems,

As hope for better fills the sky, once the sun begins to beam.

And in my park, my walk I'm compelled to hold,

I gaze up at the sky and watch the miracle unfold.

Suddenly there's joy now, the birds begin to sing,

The flowers are up, what's the new day bring?

It's mesmerizing, watching the radiance spread 'round,

To 'em leaves, 'em butterflies, even the soil on the ground.

Chirping and flying, there's life everywhere,

Working for each other, as warmth fills the air.

I fall back into the green

A smile wide across my face,

And marvel at what's around me,

Sheer beauty and grace.
