One day, on her thirteenth birthday actually, Sam got sick. She felt as if her stomach was on fire and as if she was slowly and painfully burning away from the inside. her mom called and ambulance because they had no car and Sam was rushed to the E.R.
After a doctor had investigated her, he went to speak with Sam's mother. They were gone for a long while and San was stuck watching sports because she couldn't find the remote. Sam was just beginning to worry about her mother when she walked in. Right away, Sam noticed that her mom was all nervous and blushing. Sam almost asked why but stopped herself because her mom had something to say.
"Honey, that nice doctor outside was talking to me about what happened. It appears that you have a one in one million chance disease called Crayolitis. This disease causes you to have extreme pain like you had been feeling before. The doctor says that the only way to stop it is to take a pill daily. if you don't take it, your pain will keep coming back and it will get worse every time. You're going to start today. Also, that nice doctor has invited us to dinner, so we will be going there later tonight. Now, we can leave."
