This is a poem that was sent to me by someone I will keep anonymous. It's a quest true to all who have ever fought for love. It's extremely figurative and metaphorical and if you wish to understand it, you can't take any part of it literally. Enjoy.

Metal strikes metal

And breaths profound

The weight of such journey

Still heavy on chest plate

The edge of such a vast land

Covered under the sweet shadow

Of a vibrant line of trees

Land familiar to a knight

But lost because of man

To a knight, familiar paths;

To a man, fertile soil

To a knight, a victorious battleground;

To a man, a song of the land

Escaping his lips,

Drawn with pain,

Delivered with hope,

To know that land again

Clothed perfectly in natural beauty

Carved carefully by a perfect Hand

The song precedes the lips,

But the sound belongs to the heart

The heart cries out,

Yet the lips smile

The heart aches,

Yet the lips be still

A flood inevitable;

The scent of iron

Invades his thoughts

The blurry castle lays so close,

Yet so far

Its blue finish unforgettable

Its graceful beginning;

A blessing
