"Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

When people called me "ugly", that hurt me.

When people said I was a "loser", that hurt me.

When people called me "stupid", that hurt me.

When people said "you don't matter", that hurt me.

All of these examples are words.

If you were called them, wouldn't it hurt your feelings?

Words can hurt.

The words themselves can't physically hurt you, but they damage you emotionally forever.

And it's those emotional feelings that cause people to harm themselves.

So yes, words can hurt.

And once there out there, you can't take them back.

And you know what?

Sometimes, words can hurt more than any punch, slap, kick or scratch ever will.

Think before you speak.
