when he orders more sugar with his bubble tea, does it mean he's more sweet?
sometimes i don't understand oliver.
then again, i'm quite sure he doesn't always understand me.
but as we walk to the little corner gelato or icecream (another thing i don't understand - what's the difference between them?) shop, oliver laces his fingers through mine, and i look down awkwardly at our now twined fingers, though i see he's caught ahold of dex's hand as well, and done the same.
"i'll treat you guys," he smiles widely.
i laugh nervously, "it's okay, i'll pay for myself."
"aw, come on, lily. it's not like it's going to kill you."
yes it will, i think briefly, but then, hey! i can save some money! yeah, let oliver pay.
i sigh, "alright then."
"what do you want dex?" ollie asks.
"triple scoop vanilla for me. what do you want lils?"
"ooh, i don't know." i ponder for a moment. "i'll have the nougat one. one scoop please."
"okay, so a triple scoop vanilla, single scoop italian nougat and a double scoop salted caramel."
when he turns his back, suddenly i realise just how attractive oliver can be. and i don't want to have realised. because i'll have gone too deep, and i can't do that. i'll end up hurting people.
i'll end up hurting mum.
i can't do that.
he probably doesn't even like me, so i think i'll get over it, eventually.
