Chapter 1

My heart beats with the drums of the music as I stood by the window, watching painfully at my mate lip locked with a blond human that I loathe. My mate knows that we belong together, but it seemed he rejected me by the looks of it. He didn't say that he reject me, but he send a message to me telling me that he doesn't want me. It's not because of  my pretty looks, no, it was his decision to be with a human girl. He's a werewolf by the way. He has dirty blond hair, blue eyes, muscular, tall, tanned skin, and is drop dead gorgeous. Every girl would swoon when he passed them and I would drown with jealousy, betrayal, and hurt. He doesn't know how much pain that I'm going through since my parents were killed by the hunters last month. I'm still in pain because of them and him.

Back then, he and I were besties, but as we grew up together we found out the reason we were together is because we belong together. Soul mates. James Brown, my mate, started to avoid me after finding out and end up hooking up with human girls. I would end up crying all the way home and never going to school for three days. Or more like a week. That was before my parents were alive and finding out what's going on with me. They were disappointed in James and his selfishness that they didn't talk to his family ever again. That's when James Brown's family noticed and called asked what's going on with us. My mom, of coarse, explained what happened with a lot of harshness in her tone.

"Well, you can tell your son why my own daughter isn't going to school for a week," mom sneered, suggestively, glaring at the wall like she can see Mrs. Brown in front of her.

I was hiding and listening to everything mom said in the closet since the phone is close to it- she had her back to me so she didn't sense me because she was to busy talking to Mrs. Brown on the phone that she hadn't notice me sneaking into the closet to listen to her phone conversation. It pains me that mom talk to Mrs. Brown like that because Mrs. Brown is like a second mom to me.

"Sorry, but I think you should tell your son why my daughter is upset...Uh-huh...Sorry no. I wont talk to you rationally when you have a son who is selfish and naive...Again sorry. Tell your son what happened. BYE," she growled, hanging up the phone with anger. She huffed furiously and walked down the hall, not knowing that her own daughter is in the closet crying her eyes out.

Then after finding out what's going on, every pack knew the news between James and me. We don't know who told them, but I have a feeling it's something to do with mom. Mrs. Brown was embarrassed, humiliated, and upset because of her son's decision. Everyone knows the rumours, except the alpha. If the alpha knows, we wont know what will happen. Being rejected by your own mate is painful. Like somebody stabbed your heart and twisted it, making it hard to breathe.

After my parents death, the rest of the pack came to the funeral, including the Brown family. And my disgruntled mate and the alpha, of coarse. I couldn't stop the racking sob that over took me. I was lonely, rejected by my own mate, angry at the hunters for killing my parents, and betrayed that my own parents left me behind with my pain and loss. And during the funeral, I fainted in front of everyone because I felt light headed and weak. The last thing I heard before I fall, was Mrs. Brown screaming, "DIANA!" I felt strong arms carrying me as I wished and hoped I were dead right here, right next to my parents grave so I wont have to deal with my broken heart. He, James, never talked or even got near me the rest of the week and during the funeral, making me wonder if he hated me that much.
