"Is there anybody that I didn't call but has my name on their schedule?" the teacher asked. The last thing I wanted to do was bring attention to myself but I couldn't just sit there. I raised my hand.

"Come up here and bring your schedule sweetie." she said. I walked up and didn't even glance at Naima. I could still feel her eyes staring at the back of my head. The teacher looked at my schedule. "Well you do belong here. You must be new just like me. You can go back to your seat." I returned back to my seat and took out my phone.

"Naima's in my class." I texted Hakeem.

"Just ignore her, she's not going to do anything." I shoved my phone in my pocket and tried to pay attention to what the teacher was saying. Somebody opened the door and the entire class turned around, a tall Somali guy entered and sat in the seat next to me.

"Sir, what's your name?" the teacher asked.

"Faisal." he said. He had a mean face, I was scared to even look at him too long. She checked his name off of the attendance list and kept talking. I looked straight ahead until I heard him whisper something to me. I turned and looked at him. "Hey what time does this class end?" he asked.

"I don't know." I shrugged.

"I've never seen you around here before, are you new or something?" he asked.

"Yeah, are you?"

"Nah. What's your name?"

"Warsan."

"Hakeem's girl?"

"Yeah."

"He told me all about you."

"What did he say?" I asked.

"Good things. He made you sound so good I started to think he was making you up."

The bell rang and I stood up and grabbed my bag. Hakeem was already waiting outside for me. His eyes lit up as soon as he saw Faisal.

"Bayden said you weren't coming." said Hakeem. Faisal must have been Bayden's boyfriend.

"I wasn't planning on it but she begged me." he laughed.

"You guys are in the same class?" asked Hakeem.

"Yeah." said Faisal. He turned and looked at me. "You have a good guy right here I swear nobody is going to treat you better than him." he said pointing at Hakeem. "I've known this dude my whole life, it doesn't get better than him." Naima walked out of the class and walked passed all of us. Faisal's face scrunched up.

"Why are you making that face?" I asked.

"Because I hate her."

"Why?" I asked.

"Everybody hates her." he said.

"Hey man it was nice seeing you but I gotta take Warsan to her next class. I'll see you later."

Hakeem took me to all of my my morning classes. I listened to each teacher go through their class syllabus, they eventually all started sounding the same. After fifth period Hakeem was standing outside of the class, he told me it was time for lunch. I went with him to the cafeteria and we sat with Bayden, Faisal, and Ahmed.

"How's your day going so far love?" she asked.

"Pretty good."

"I'm going to go buy lunch, do you want anything babe?" Hakeem asked me.

"Just get me whatever you're getting." I said. We had the same taste anyway.

"What do you want?" Faisal asked Bayden.
