 [Asleep ]

[Dreams begin.]

The light follows the Colorado river.
The moments pass by as the ocean winds collide
near window of my home.
And I don't understand, who are you?

And the shadows leave again.

I met you in the hotel, 5:00 am, precisely.
You were beautiful and pale, sunlight
gleamed over your body, the shadows
of love surrounded you. Who are you?

Light passed through my window.

It's 5:00 a.m. again, and I found
you again, among the orchards,
by the trees where my mother grew up.
I know you, have I not met you?

[ I toss and turn inside my bed. ]
Looking for my cup of wine.

It's 6:00 am, and I miss you, where are you?
I've been so restless, and I can't kill the pain.
I can't. I miss you. You were my wife,
my perfect bride, you were everything to me.
All that I ever wanted.

You built cities by your prayers,
you took care of the orphan and sheep,
Where are you now?

I hug the ashes in the tin can.
I miss you so much, come back, please.

I prayed to the Lord,
will you not take me also?
He remembered her favorite
love song and  fell asleep.

There you are, my dear.

There you are.
