Chapter Five

Harry lay in the dirty hut floor, the raggedy old blanket doing little to provide any warmth. He drew a cake in the dirt on the floor, counting down the minutes til he turned eleven years old. He glanced over at Dudley's watch, the time was 11:59 pm. One more minute to go. Just one more. Suddenly the digits changed to 12:00 am. A sad smile appeared on his face as he stared at the floor. He couldn't stop thinking about Chloe, how she would've been waiting for him two hours ago. He wouldn't be there, and she didn't know that. She didn't know that she would never see him again. She didn't know anything about him never going back to the little house on Privet drive.

Suddenly there was a loud thumping noise that echoed through the room. Dudley woke up and they both stared at the door. The thumping continued, til the door burst off of it's hinges and flew across the room. Dudley screamed and hid behind the couch he was sleeping on, cowering in fear. Harry hid in the corner, out of sight, as a huge man walked into the room. He had a big shaggy black beard, and long hair as well. He looked like he was over eight feet tall, was wearing black boots, dark brown trousers, a black cotton shirt, and a long brown coat that reached the floor. The giant looked around the room.

"Harry? You in 'ere?" the man asked as he glanced around. Harry remained quiet, not sure if he should say something or stay hidden in the shadows. Suddenly a small girl ran into the room. She had long blonde hair that hung to her waist, bright blue eyes, and facial features that she must've stolen from an angel. She looked like she was as tall as Harry, possibly an inch shorter. She was wearing a blue jacket over a white t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Harry could've recognized her anywhere.

"Chloe!" he said and stood up from his spot in the corner. He ran to her and wrapped his arms around her, embracing her tightly. He was so relieved to see her. He had feared the worst. Chloe smiled and hugged him back, her fears relieved as well. They pulled apart and looked at Hagrid as he sat on the couch in the hut. He pulled what looked like an umbrella out of his coat and pointed it at the fireplace. Sparks erupted and fire ignited in the small fireplace, making the room warmer as the seconds rolled by. Harry stood close to Chloe, unsure if he should trust the man sitting on the couch. Footsteps were heard as Mr. and Mrs. Dursley came from upstairs in their nightgowns. Vernon gasped when he saw Hagrid,  his eyes bulging out of his head as if he'd seen a ghost.

"Come on, Harry. Hagrid would like to give you something." Chloe said as she sat beside Hagrid. He smiled at Harry and handed him two things. A box and a letter. Harry decided to observe the box first, urgently untying the ribbon that had been wrapped around it.

"I made the thing in the box, I knew you liked chocolate, so I hope you enjoy it." Hagrid said as Harry opened the white box first. Inside, was a cake with the words 'Happy Birthday Harry' wirrten across it. A grin appeared on Harry's face and he closed the box, saving the cake for later. Chloe watched as Dudley began to approach the cake, but gave him the evil eye. Dudley quickly hid behind the couch like he had before.

"Thank you." Harry said, then began to open the letter. Once he had pulled the letter from the envelope, he read the words and his jaw dropped. Chloe and Hagrid couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction as they remembered Chloe's when she had first read her letter.

"You must be mistaken, I-I'm not a wizard. I'm just plain Harry." Harry remarked, nearly dropping his letter. Chloe just chuckled and pulled her letter from her back pocket, showing him that she had gotten the same letter. The only difference was that instead of saying 'Dear Ms. Johnson', it said 'Dear Mr.Potter'.

"Harry, you've got wizardry in your blood. Your parents were a witch and a wizard, just like Chloe's were. Her brother was a student at Hogwarts as well." Hagrid explained. Chloe smiled and put a hand on Harry's shoulder in excitement. She squeezed his shoulder tightly, letting him know just how excited she was.

"This is going to be so much fun!" she said happily and jumped up and down for joy. She was overjoyed to be with Harry again, after fearing that she may never see him again.

"No! No! No! No! I am not going to allow this!" Mr. Dursley shouted as he stood between Harry and Hagrid. Chloe glared up at him.

"What? You honestly think a muggle like yourself could stop the legendary Harry Potter from attending this amazing school?" Chloe asked him, a smirk on her face. Hagrid had filled her in all about muggles and how stupid they were, he even explained to her how muggles weren't suppost to learn about wizardry because they couldn't handle it. That didn't surprise her, Vernon had a brain the size of a sweet pea, he couldn't handle many things.

"Muggle?" Harry said confused.

"People who have no magical talent like we do." Hagrid explained to him. Harry nodded, understanding what he meant.

"I will not pay for this boy to go to a school to be taught useless little tricks by ugly old magicians!" Vernon shouted and glared at Hagrid. An angry look appeared on Hagrid's face. Hagrid pointed his umbrella at Mr. Dursley, the three of them shuddered in terror, then he aimed it at Dudley. A burst of light erupted from the tip of the umbrella, and hit Dudley square in the bum. He shrieked as a pig tail appeared where the light had hit. Harry and Chloe couldn't help but laugh as Dudley, Mr. Dursley, and Mrs. Dursley began to panic frantically. Hagrid gestured for Harry and Chloe to follow him out of the building, and they did as they were told.

"So, you'll be attending Hogwarts as well?" Harry asked Chloe, smiles on both of their faces. She nodded as they walked out of the hut towards Hagrid's motorcycle they had ridden to the small island that the hut was built on. Harry wondered how they were going to fit on that, then he saw the small little passenger seat connected to the side of the vehicle.

"This is so exciting!  I just love adventures!" Chloe said happily as they hopped into the passengers seats. Harry sat beside her and buckled up. Hagrid hopped onto the motorcycle and started it, the engine loudly stirring to life. Harry was so happy that he would be with Chloe for a whole year, learning wizardry and witchcraft. Chloe was just as excited. Especially after thinking she would never get to see Harry again.

Harry and Chloe both knew that this was definitely going to be an interesting year indeed.
