The Tongue

The tongue, the strongest muscle in the body.

We use it to taste foods, and make noises,

form letters and words.

We don't know the strength of it though,

how strong the tongue actually is.

It can be used to make merry,

It can be used to make somebody's day,

It can be a thing of joy, love, and sometimes pleasure.

But we overlook the spite that it can be used for.

It can be used to make a person feel small,

Weak,

Defenceless.

It can be used to make one person go to any extreme,

Good or bad.

It can make a person laugh, by ridiculing another.

Think about that.

Think about how the other person felt.

Your tongue may well have been making you laugh,

And you may well have been making your friends laugh,

but the one person that was made the plaything,

you may well think was laughing.

You can re-think that last thought,

Because on the very edge of their tongue,

Is a bitter taste, of bitter words,

that they may well feel like saying,

but the power of the mind beats the power of the tongue,

on this one occasion,

and that bitter word, leaves a bitter taste,

and the bitter feeling of defeat.

Until the next time,

when that cycle repeats.
