I have looked always,
Straight at who I thought I saw.
The perfection in the protected flaw.
Now, I see.
I see through the mask to the misery.
The let down
Which drags down,
Any ray of light that guides the way,
That tried to fix the breaks,
That leads the dark away.
I see you,
For at the brink of the test,
When you stood away from the rest,
You failed, losing the title "Best"
I have always looked,
Blindly as to keep you safe,
Faintly as to keep your place.
Now I see, and I don't know how to see past it.
