Chapter 1

~Four Months Before ~

“Hilly get your butt over here Now!”

“What do you want Vivian? I’m hungry and I need my dinner.”

“There will be no dinner if you keep losing your Job, Why couldn’t you work some place nice like the Computer Analytic Corp?”

“Look” The husky looking man shouted back. “I work hard keeping this roof over your head, being in the streets is worse,” his voice lowered. “Much worse”

“Whatever” the skinny dried out looking woman gave up fighting. Because inside she knew he was right. Though they barely had food they could live, they had a roof over their head. That’s what was important. They had tried their best to have a child over the past few years. They believed that it would help tthem rise out of poverty and the never changing life they lived. Sadly Vivian had constant miscarriages due to malnutrition and lack of body fat. She did look like a drug addict but that she was not. A hard life had made her look the way that she did.

The world today was fancy, shiny metal plated, computers, and cameras everywhere. Those who were poor lived in a sad town dark and gloomy away from the rich who had it all. The couple had good days and bad days yet there were those around them were dealing with a lot worse. They constantly prayed for a change for help for a sign. Something, anything needed to change and it needed to happen now. There were rumors of a plan to completely run the poor out of the town they lived in and build another high rise sky scraper.

Vivian went on her knees looking out the window. Tears fell from her eyes as she prayed once more. Please bring us hope, help us, bring us something to keep us whole. We need something… please… Vivian didn’t notice it but a bright light had shined from the night sky, and fell close by. Sparks of light jumped closer towards her form as she cried her eyes out. As the night grew colder and darker she fell asleep finally, more peaceful than any other night.

The next morning she awoke to find her stomach bigger than usual

“Hilly! Wake up! I think I’m pregnant!”

“What! what? Vivian…this can't be? how the... but..” he said softly rubbing her overgrown belly. It was perhaps a miracle, that just couldn't be explained. An over ngiht pregnancy, how could this happen. He took care of her however, the pregnancy had not lasted as long as a usual birth she had already looked about 8 months pregnant.

~Four Months after~

“Oh no Hilly wake up! This can’t be good….” She shouted in pain.

“Vivian it will be okay.” Hilly said worriedly blood was in the sheets sign of probably another miscarriage. He rushed her to the hospital with still hope they could save their child. They arrived instantly at St. Electric Hospital. She was rushed in, meanwhile Hilly spent hours in the waiting room. He paced back and forth for what seemed like hours. The doctors allowed him to enter but a strange look was on the doctor’s face. He walked in gradually and found his wife holding the most interesting glorious sight of a being. Vivian was smiling. “She’s okay Hilly…" Hilly walked in and stood next to his wife. Vivian then looked to him and said "Lets name her Kechi”

As hilly looked upon the face of the child he couldn’t help but stare and smile. “That sounds perfect. Kechi Adonis.”

Did they not see that the child was different, different from any other being? No, of course not they were stupid and poor. In actuality they thought of the child was their miracle. They had an immediate attachment to the child, no matter what she looked like to them she was a beauty. A few tests had to be done but the scientists couldn’t let such a magnificent specimen go back home to a poor family. Studies and continuous tests had to be made! The cold hearted scientists had something planned.

“May I speak to you both” a man in a white lab coat came forward, his glasses rounded and reflective the naked eye couldn’t possibly see through them. “It is important I let you know that your child is not normal. In fact, she isn’t physically fit to live in the outside world… there are.... complications." surely the scientist didn't know for sure, but he sounded like it.

“What! My baby is perfectly normal.” Vivian looked down at her beloved child quite still and unmoving. The tiny child’s chest moved up and down showing signs of life as she breathed.

“She won’t survive out there, our studies,  are showing that she might die if provided with normal child care. It just won’t work with it, I mean her…but don’t worry in return we will pay you a great sum” and with that the man grinned.

“Hilly? I say we take the baby. I don;'t care what they say. We were finally given this child and we should keep her”

“Vivian we have suffered so much this is our chance to live a great life. Besides you heard him, she might not survive with us…” Hilly said in a serious tone.  “We must, They will know how to take care of her, better then us.”

Vivian said nothing but sobbed. She was tired of suffering, but was it right to give up her baby? Vivian gave her child one last look and a kiss then nodded. She said a silent prayer in her heart. Do forgive me my child.  I love you and I hope we meet again someday. I know you are special and will do great things….in this world

The scientist gave almost an evil grin. behind his reflective glasses who knows what his plan was...Somehow his charm had won him a special study of Kechi Adonis for many years.
