Dear Katniss

Dear Katniss

In our districts, going to the Games was
considered an honour, or at least that's
what the Capitol wanted us to think.
Everyone my age is under pressure to
volunteer. No one ever knows what it's actually
like until they get to the arena, and by then it's too late.
We had families back home, who we would've done
anything for, and they would've done anything for their
child to survive. Like you, we had people we would've
volunteered for.
We weren't the monsters you saw us as.
