Just a poem I wrote while I was struggling with some inner turmoil.

Have you ever been to a carnival?

It can be so exciting.

Except for when all the clowns

Jump out and start their fighting.

What would you do if they started attacking

If they brought out their swords

Would you run and scream for help.

Or stay rooted to the floor.

Cry and scream all you want

The one's who hear, don't care

You're just a little child

Who became lost, in this fair

Evil laughter reaches your ears

The sound of screaming is around

Knowing that someone is searching for you

Makes your heart begin to pound

No one ever escapes from this place

It's walls are so unbreakable

Many have tried, more have failed

Do you think that you are capable?

The decor of the place is rather frightening

Blood is covering the streets,

You might even notice

That Bones decorate the trees

In this place sadness and madness

Always go hand and hand

These two strong emotions

Have control of this land

Why are you so afraid?

Why do your eyes shine with fear?

Don't you know none can save you.

Even when you shed your tears?

This place is called many things.

But nothing is more fitting

Than letting a little lost girl

Command and do her bidding

Without her knowing it,

She is in charge

She control's this fair

The girl with a heart so large

This world of her's is scary

Many people ask why

That's because this little girl

Has been condemned to die.

It's not her fault that she is weak

Yet no one seems to care.

This little girl lost herself

In her own little fair.

Some call it imagination

Others call it a way to hide

I call it an escape

To a place known as the mind.

So if you find yourself

Scared and all alone

Know that you have control

You have a mind of your own.
