Chapter 6

Don’t tell me

Amy

The sun was shining warm and bright outside today. The drive to the mall was quite nice… it would have been the perfect day if me and my best friend hadn’t just liked had the hugest fight ever. Okay she was fighting I was to careful not to say something irrational. At the mall, I found a parking spot under the shade and I noticed Lila’s car standing just a few paces away from me. Must be shopping to ease her pain I said silently to myself. I walked to the entrance of the boutique. I know the mall was a hang out for almost all of the kids in my school but the boutique was crowded with them trying to find the perfect suit to wear or the perfect dress to make all the girls jealous.

I looked around and my eyes scanned for a sign of somebody to help me. I went to the fitting rooms and I saw just the person to help me.

“Kia it’s so nice to see you again”

I greeted the sales lady friendly.

“Hello Amy and how can I help you today? Are you looking for a dress for the prom?”

she smiled and waved me to the mannequin dolls showing off different dresses. “Actually I already made my pick”…

“My, My. What do we have here?”

I turned around facing Lila… wearing MY prom dress!!!!!

Lila

The look on her face was classic.

“Lila how could you! You know I like totally had my eyes on that dress!”

“What Amy? Like I had my eyes on Jake and you came and stole him away from me?”

I was starting to be a bit pleased with myself and the way my plan to spoil her life was working out so brilliantly.

“I already told you what happened between me and Jake. Could you please just act a bit like a grown up for once?”

she looked like she was about to cry right there. This was the way she always acted when something unexpected happened to her.

“Don’t worry Amy it’s not like you won’t find another dress right. I’m sure the slut department would have something that will fit your new image.”

I gave her a sarcastic smile and turned to go and make my purchase.

“Oh yeah, and its first come first serve!”

I didn’t even have to look behind me to know that she stormed out the shop. Looks like this day can’t get any better. I walked to the fitting room and took the dress off. I love happy endings… for me.

“Can I ring you up Miss Mayer?”

“Yeah sure”.

“Will do so ma’am”.

I grabbed my stuff and headed to the desk. Making sure to meet the eyes of the curious girls wondering what happened between me and Amy.

Amy

My life is falling apart. Everything I loved and knew is shattering away from me. Mark doesn’t want to hear from me and Lila hates me and she’s planning revenge. I called him a few times since the accident but he doesn’t answer. I know I hurt him with the whole prom story but I really like Jake.

“Honey”…

My mom stood in the doorway.

“Did you find a nice dress to wear to prom? Do you have a date yet?”
