Alex

I threw myself down on the ground, groaning in frustration. I had been running and walking through this forest for hours. I had no clue where I was going, or why I was even in the freaking forest in the first place, but there was a little voice in my head saying "Come on Alex, go forward." Stupid voice. I don't want to go forward, I just want to go backward. Back to before I knew I had this stupid power, back to before I became a bully, back to before my mother left. But I couldn't.
"ARGHHH!!" I scream out, and get no satisfaction when it echoes around the forest.
"WHY??!!" I scream again, so loud that my throat hurts. I slam my fisted hands onto the ground. I hate my life. I try to look up at the sky, only to discover that it was completely blocked by the foilage of the trees.
"Fan-freaking-tastic." I mutter.

Jack

I jumped out of the bushes. Ben, Angie, and the other girl all whipped around in surprise. I saw Angie's eyes widen, and her mouth fall open slightly. I frowned, what was she so shocked about? I looked down at myself, and then I realised. My shirt was practically ripped to shreds, which meant that you could see most of my chest. I smirked. Angie had never seen me topless before. It's always funny to watch a girls reaction for the first time. I saw her visibly gulp and close her mouth, but her eyes were freely roaming all over my torso. Beat that Ben. You may be sweet, and funny, and kind, but you sure as hell don't have the body of a god.

Angie finally managed to avert her eyes from my nearly completely exposed chest.
"Jack," she said in strained voice, "what are you doing here?"
"He has a power too." the other girl suddenly said, and Angie turned to frown at her.
"How could you possibly know that?" Angie asked her, in a cold, nasty tone. Wow. I hardly ever heard Angie speak to people like that. It was pretty scary when she actually did.
"Isn't it obvious? You've got a power, I've got a power, Ben has a power, and we all end up in the exact same place in the exact same woods. Now this kid rolls out of the bushes, but I'm thinking that it's not a coincidence. I'll bet that he has a power too." She looks at me for clarification, and I nod back. I then I freeze. Before that moment, I hadn't realised how amazingly beautiful the girl was. Her long reddish hair lifted and floated in the breeze, her pale, lightly freckled skin seemed to be lit from within, her eyes were somehow clear and glazed over at the same time. I used to think that Angie was the prettiest girl in the world. Now I was starting to reconsider. I gazed at her for a full minute before Ben cleared his throat. I hurridely broke the eye contact.
"Do you have a power Jack?" Ben asks me. I nod.
"Show us then." I sigh. I don't want to do this, but I get a feeling in my gut that the other girl was right. Obviously, something other than chance brought us here together. I need to show them my power. I walk over to one of the trees near us. I roll my neck and crack my knuckles. I throw out a vicious punch towards the tree. My hand goes straight through the middle of it, bark flying out the other side. I bring my hand out and shake it around. It isn't sore, it just tingles. I turn back towards Ben, Angie and the other girl, and find them all staring at me with amazement. I felt a swell of pride in my chest. I am awesome. I laugh and bow for them, and they all laugh along with me. For that tiny little moment, everything feels perfect. Then I hear a huge CREAAAK from behind me.
"JACK!!!" Angie screams. I turn, only to see a huge tree falling towards me. I don't have time to do anything. I brace myself for impact.

Claire

I laugh as the guy bows and laughs, his blonde hair flipping over his face in a cute way. He really is very hot. You can tell from the smirk on his face though that he enjoys the attention, enjoys being the number one. I just watch in amusement as he continues his theatrics, bowing and throwing out fake kisses. And then I hear a huge CREAAK. I widen my eyes in horror as the tree that he punched the hole through begins to fall, with him directly in its path.
"JACK!!!" I hear Angie scream out. He turns around in surprise, but you can already tell that it's too late, he can't save himself now. It's like one of those slow motion moments in the movies, except worse. Think Claire, Think! My sluggish brain tells me; USE YOUR POWER! Of course! My power is moving things with my mind. All I need to do is ask the tree to stop falling. DO IT QUICKLY THEN!! Right of course, quickly. I focus on the tree, using all of my willpower. It's a pretty heavy tree, let me tell you. I grit my teeth and release all of my energy towards holding up the tree. I can feel it, it's going to stop. Come on, come on, come ON! YES! I have it. I use what is left of my remaining energy to push it back the other way. It falls to the ground with an almighty BANG! Jack looks up, startled.
"W-What? The tree w-was so c-close." He stutters in disbelief. Angie and Ben also look at me in disbelief.
"You did that?" Ben asks. I nod, too tired to speak, and then I collapse onto the ground, breathing heavily.

Ben

I watch as Claire nods, and then collapses onto the ground. Jack rushes towards her, concerned. He kneels down over her as she lies on the ground, trying to get her breath back. I look over at Angie. She is giving them a jealous glare, her eyes narrowed and her mouth set in a hard line. I shake my head. What is her problem? One moment she's giving Claire the cold shoulder for the way I looked at her, and then now that Jack is fussing over Claire, and she has me all to herself, she can't stop glaring at them.
"Angie?" I ask her, feeling tentative, "what's wrong?"
"Oh, nothing," she says with a venomous tone, "other than the fact that little miss perfect here can do no wrong, and she wants to take all my thunder." I shake my head again. Who is this girl? This isn't Angie. Angie is sweet and kind and beautiful. Angie would be over there with Jack, trying to help the poor girl who had just used all her energy to save Jack's life. This girl is poisonous, jealous, cold. I don't like her. At all. I give her my most disappointing look, and then jog over to where Jack is helping Claire. Angie huffs and storms over to a large rock, where she sits and sulks.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I hear Jack's voice say.
"Yeah, just a bit dizzy." Claire replies. I kneel down on the other side of her and grin.
"That was pretty awesome Claire." I tell her. She laughs weakly.
"Yeah, I know right?" Jack chuckles and strokes her cheek. Then he yanks his hand back in shock. Claire and I look at him in surprise.
"Um... -ahem- sorry." he manages to cough out, his cheeks gradually turning a bright red colour, and then he gets up and walks towards Ange. Claire pushes herself off the ground, wincing a little. I feel a twinge of concern for her. A twinge of concern, and maybe, just maybe, a twinge of like? Do I like Claire? No, that's impossible. I've barely known her for two hours. Besides, I love Angie. I reassure myself of all this before looking down at Claire again. Maybe I don't like her, but there certainly is something about her.
