Before I start "preaching" I might as well refresh you guys with this short story that I know of. This story isn't mine, the words below are not the exact words and I take no credit for it.
A philosophy professor walked in to give his class their final. Placing his chair on his desk the professor instructed the class:
“Using every applicable thing you’ve learned in this course, prove to me that this chair does not exist.”
So, pencils writing and erasers erasing, the students launched into their epic essays to prove that this chair didn’t exist … except, that was, for one student: young Nasrudin.
He spent thirty seconds writing his answer, then promptly turned his paper in to the astonishment of both his peers and the professor, and returned to his seat to await the end of the lesson.
Time went by, and the day came when all the students get their final grades … And to the amazment of the class, young Nasrudin, the student who wrote for thirty seconds received the highest grade in the class.
And his answer to the question, which quite transported the philosophy professor himself?
“What chair?”
Siguro one of the reasons din kung bakit dumadami ang haters, bashers and ranters dito sa Wattpad is the fact na people give them attention.
I don't know how they started but I'll assume it started with just one. It always starts with that one coward who hides behind aggression and anonymity.
Assuming hindi pinansin yung unang hater, do you think may mag-aaksaya pa ng panahon na gayahin yung ginawa niya?
I don't think so.
Siguro iniisip natin na yung may mali ay yung haters WHICH IS TRUE because no one, NO ONE, has the right to disrespect anyone.
Sige sabihin nilang "walang talent" ang isang writer or kung ano-ano pa pero that's not enough to hate and trash talk them. Almost all of us here came to Wattpad to write, read and escape. Effort. KAHIT EFFORT man lang, bigyan nila ng respect.
Other than the haters being wrong, it's the people na pumapatol sa mga haters who have a bigger part to play.
We ask haters to be mature? Then we ourselves might as well start being mature.
It's sad to think that I might be wasting my time and effort to type all of this. Siguro, maghihintay nalang akong dumating yung araw na mag mature lahat ng non-haters and gawin nila kung ano yung dapat: ang dedmahin ang haters.
I'm no one to say all of these, alam ko. I'm no one in Wattpad. Hindi ako sikat na writer at mas lalong hindi ako hater.
Hindi rin ako isa sa mga taong sumusulong pag may lumilitaw na hater ng favorite writers ko. I'm just one of those people na napadpad dito to write and read and observe kung ano yung mga nangyayari.
I CHALLENGE all the readers and writers here in Wattpad na sa next time na may lumitaw na haters and bashers, kahit ano pa ang sabihin nila about your favorite authors, wag patulan.
Don't post on their message boards.
Don't vote for their write-ups.
Don't comment.
Don't chat with them.
Don't send them personal messages.
Don't follow their accounts.
Don't speak about them.
Yes we do care for our favorite authors pero the best way to end all of this is to PRETEND AS IF THEY DON'T EXIST.
Does doing this mean we tolerate them? NO. It means we have no time for their childish actions and mentality.
NOTE: There is a difference between a basher and a critic.
If we set ourselves to thinking that they don't exist and that they don't matter, then whatever they say won't do damage. They can go on and on about the same complaints that they have but they can never succeed if they don't have an audience.
They can only do the damage if we allow them to.
What's the catch?
If we succeed, then peaceful Wattpad should be back.
If not? Then maybe we'll just keep trudging through this hate-infested hell.
