Blind One's Sight

Silk between her toes,

Fingers through her hair,

Kisses on her skin,

Yearning to see.

Black.

Distance in her eyes,

Yet beauty on her face.

Black.

Yearning to see the shore.

Black, black, black...

Something beneath her foot,

Now brushing her fingers,

Now in her hand.

Black.

Yearning to see.

Flashes of scurrying animals, trees rising in seconds,

Father, mother, sister, brother,

As child, adult, elder, dead,

Sun and moon, sun and moon,

Sun and moon, sun, moon, sun, moon, sun...

The thing is dropped.

Black.

Black or all-sight?

Something beneath her foot,

Now brushing her fingers,

Now in her hand.

"I am Moira, and I want to see."
