The girl in the mirror, deems herself a disgrace,

Forming atomies of detrimental thoughts about her fate.

Wallowing in self pity, as the young lass lay in woe,

Fellow men think her lovely, they swear their hearts could overflow.

Yet she never doth believe, she deems that all are foolish lies,

The girl in the mirror doubts she has the need to surmise.

Affirming to herself a horrid woman is she,

Hiding in a place where no one could ever see.

Her beautiful face is as fair as the moon,

Her eyes, her soul would make all the lads swoon.

But filled in dejection, no forbearance and comfort,

In her pity she stayed, convinced there was nothing more to sort.

The past she ne’er let go, for it was just too close to bear,

Amort was she, locked in chains, when the key lay near her hair.

A crystal tear fell down her face, kneeling down she prays a-night,

‘Oh Lord, I feel that I’m a disgrace, forgive me if you might!’

The girl cried and cried with all her heart, the ground now flooded with tears,

The Lord’s heart melted at the cries of His child and washed away her fears.

Her beauty is a rose that catches men like fishing rods,

She gave into the fight and surrendered all to her mighty God.

Betimes the chains have fallen, one by one they hit the ground,

Bliss that once she thought was lost, that now, at last! is found.

He wiped away her tears as she lay peacefully in His arms,

Like the whisper of the wind, He said,

“You are my beautiful charm”

This is a re-make of this poem (the former one is quite funny and can be found in my blog), and I am very happy I made a few changes- well additional changes. Special thanks to MenofOneAccord and to God for helping me and encouraging me to make a re-make of this poem (and also Shakespeare, who helped me with my vocabulary- I hope I used them right). So thank you…

I know I haven’t been blogging a lot, but I hope I will. I really did miss you guys and I’ve been falling out lately, and missing our ‘Song of the Week’ and ‘Bible Verse of the Week’. Don’t worry, I’ll try and squeeze in. Love you! and JESUS LOVES YOU TOO!

And if you’re that girl (in the poem), I want you to look at the mirror and see through the eyes of God. You are worth more than many sparrows, worth more than diamonds. Plus, diamonds don’t even shine. But you have the chance to shine… and it’s your choice.

Remember that God LOVES you.

Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
