x_justafangirl_x HURRO WOMAN

Yuzuru's POV

Today, we're working on the biellmann. It's crazy how the girl skaters can be so flexible, I don't understand how they pull their leg so far up.

Especially this Russian girl I saw at the recent competition.

Yooleeya lip something.

Russian names.

"Okay, do a donut, and pull it up," Coach Brian asks, gesturing at me.

I do as I'm told, but I can only hold the catch foot for about three revolutions.

"Okay, hold it longer. Then go into a mushroom," he points.

I try the combination, but I lose a lot of speed in the mushroom and topple over.

Coach laughs, and asks me to try again.

That's how training is.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I'm feeling so pissed at myself for always being unable to do the combination, until I hear a jovial laugh from the side.

She's there, her hair tossed over her shoulders.

Her eyes are sparkling.

She holds Pooh-San, taunting me.

"Come on, it's not that hard," she yells, laughing.

I try again, but I entangle myself again in the mushroom and lose speed, falling on my side in a heap of potato.

"You suck," she laughs, bending over

"Not as much as you do," I call out to her.

Coach went out to the office, I notice as I look around.

He might think I'm a flirt.

I pinch my shirt a little.

"Hey, you don't even know if I'm super good at skating!" Koharu calls again, an indignant look on her face.

I put on a stern face, and skate towards her, walking out without talking to her.

Marching to the locker rooms, I pick up a pair of rental skates from the racks, in her size.

Since when did I notice her size?

"Did I say something to make you angry? I'm sorry--" she puts a hand on my shoulder, before I shove the skates into her arms playfully.

"Try these on, and we'll talk."

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"What the hell, these are crazy hard to balance on--" she complains, tightening her grip on my arms.

It took me nearly fifteen minutes to help her out on her shoes, and convince her that the ice didn't bite, to which she replied, "frostbite".

I led her out, so that she didn't have access to the walls. I wanted her to just trust me and hold onto me.

Do I like her?

Yuzu, there's no time to worry about love.

You're supposed to work on your sport.

While I'm distracted in my thoughts, she takes another shaky step forward.

"You glide, you don't walk. We skaters are lazy people. We glide. We push," I slowly say, demonstrating the motion.

"You've been trained since you were 4, you would know," she mumbles under her breath, cursing in Japanese.

"Wait, how did you know when I started?" I ask, letting go of her for a moment.

"Um, nothing," she utters, trying to reach for my arms again.

"No, tell me," I persist, stepping away from her.

She paws at me, grumbling.

"Wikipedia," she mutters unhappily, catching my sleeve and clinging to it.

"You checked out my Wikipedia page?" I laughed.

"Shut up," she says, pulling herself closer to me.

I can see her dark eyes, so full of mystery and wonder, but capable of lighting up my day.

Her skin is smooth, fair like a normal Japanese, but she's not normal.

She's beautiful.

My mind goes off track, and I lose balance, a little dazed by our closeness.

She wobbles, and falls on me too.

Her lips accidentally brush against mine, and everything feels like fireworks.

Her lips are so soft and kissable.

Her eyes widen, and we quickly move away, and I get up quickly, helping her too.

Our eyes meet again, and we don't linger for long, as we two blush like mad.

They say the Japanese blushes are the cutest to watch.

Hers is the cutest thing ever.

"Um, wanna learn how to go backwards?" I ask, offering my arms again.

She nods shyly, and I turn around, so that I'm going forward and she's facing me.

"Just try to wiggle backwards, you'll understand it when you get it," I stutter.

"Very helpful, Hanyu-Sensei," she says sarcastically.

I blush again and look away.

Her eyes are filled with mischief.

We skate some more, until she is more comfortable doing backward swizzles.

"You learn fast, my young grasshopper," I whisper, relishing the 'my'. Is she mine?

She's not, for now.

Better make her mine.

"Koharu?" I ask softly, squeezing her hands.

Her fingers are long and slender, from playing the piano. They're not smooth and polished like what people like, but they're the evidence of hard work, and these are hands that will save people in the future.

She looks straight in my eyes.

There is uncertainty in her dark eyes, but a little bit of anticipation.

"Ireallylikeyou," I quickly say in one breath, gulping.

She looks at me for a second, and I think she doesn't like me the way I like her.

She hasn't said anything at all, and I look down, eyes stinging a little.

I guess we can only be friends.

"I'm sorry for saying--" I mumble, voice cracking.

But she pulls my arms, and I crash straight into her, lips as well.

I've never legit kissed anybody before.

It's a short and sweet kiss, but her answer was clear.

"What makes you think I don't like you as well?" She whispers, leaning into my forehead.
