Happiness…I’ll never be her face.
You will not find her written in my name,
Maybe the stars collided the day I was born,
Wiping the happiness out of my life;
Taking it away from my natal chart.
There are one million maybes,
But in one thing I am sure,
Happiness…she doesn’t live on my floor.
In this building of broken dreams,
The highest floor belongs to me.
I am the one, the mistress of shattered illusions,
You’ll find me on the top floor.
I’m looking down on the grey town,
But you only know what you’ve been told.
So let me tell you what I am looking for:
It’s the face of happiness;
I want to see it with my eyes.
So I take a look at you all,
But I can’t find it, not in all your lies.
One more of my illusion shatters down,
And I feel dying a bit more inside.
But I stay the mistress of broken dreams,
Happiness…that’s not the face of me.
