Chapter 7: Brooklyn

Mondays suck. Two words that I live by. I rolled over onto my back as my clock blasted "Good Girls Go Bad" by Cobra Starship. I stared up at my ceiling and dreaded the day to come. "Brooklyn, stop being lazy and get up already!!" My mom yelled into my room as she passed by. I rolled my eyes and got up. I walked over and checked myself in my mirror. "Hey gorgeous, you look even better than you did yesterday." I said as I smiled at myself. "Would you stop worshipping yourself and get ready already?" Albany said shaking her head. Albany is my older sister and we don't like each other at all. We are so different like: I have blonde hair but Albany has light brown hair, I'm short and skinny but Albany is tall and curvy, I'm pretty and Albany is.....ok I guess, and....I don't have a boyfriend but Albany....does. I don't understand, I mean I'm pretty and I'm nice..kinda so why don't I have a boyfriend? I think it's because boys can't handle me. Albany and I have hated each other  since we were 5 when we started to pull pranks on each other. Albany's pranks were always simple either insects in my shampoo and conditioner or put butter in my socks. I on the other hand would plan the pranks out in weeks advanced and I always won the wars. I actually put a live tarantula in a box and gave it to her for her birthday. That's why we hate each other. "I was actually waiting for your ugly face to appear in my mirror." I said smirking at Albany. She rolled her eyes and walked away. "I hate you just so you know!" I yelled down the hall. Albany flipped a very nasty finger at me and walked away. I rolled my eyes and walked over to my closet and looked inside. I grabbed my dark blue skinny jeans, my dark red v-neck, and my black boots. After I got dressed, I walked into the kitchen and sat down at the kitchen table. "Brooklyn, pass me the milk." My mom asked. I picked up the milk and got up from my chair and walked it over to her. I ate pancakes and bacon and walked out the door to my car. Albany and I share a car which is a red Ferrari. I turned the key and started to back out the driveway when Albany came out of the house. "Brooklyn, are you leaving without me?" Albany yelled as I drove down the road. I laughed out loud and blasted "Teeth" by Lady GaGa. I pulled into a parking space and noticed Luciana pulled in next to me in her bright green New Beetle. "Hey Lucy. What up's Tigger?" I said. "Nothing much, Piglet. Why are you so happy?" Luciana said as she grabbed her backpack. "Well, school's back in and I'm looking for some new meat, if you know what I mean." I said wiggling my eyebrows. "No, and I don't want to know." Luciana said as she closed her eyes. Lucy is alot different than the rest of us because she's awkward around boys and the rest of us aren't. She doesn't understand boys but then again I don't really either. "Nevermind, Lucy. So, where's James?" I said looking around for James. I have always had a soft spot for James ever since we met but Melody had to go and steal him away from me but I'm over it, I mean I'm glad that I'm single because that means I can make out with any guy I want. "Oh, no. It's the nerd parade." I said as I saw Ethan and Benny walking up to us. "Hey Ana." Ethan said to Luciana as they came up to us. "Hey Ethan." Luciana said shyly and smiled to herself. "Hey Ana. Hey beautiful, so how was your summer? Hopefully, it was as wonderful as you are." Benny said smiling at me. I rolled my eyes. Benny is always like this with every girl except Luciana and Melody which is probably because Ethan likes Luciana and Melody isn't Benny's type. "Ignoring you, Benny." I said as I walked passed them to the school. I heard running behind me and knew it was Benny trying to catch up with me. "Benny, please leave me alone. I don't want your nerdyness to rub off on me." I said as I walked through the doors. "Brooklyn, you know, I could but I like you too much and I have a feeling you like me just as much as I like you." Benny said smiling wide. I sighed and walked to my locker. "Hey Brooklyn." Some guy said as he walked past. I smiled and opened my locker and put my binders up. I looked behind me and saw Benny had left me to bother some other girl. I sighed in relief. I hated the nerd. As I walked to my first period, I decided that I would stay the first 3 periods and 'leave' for lunch and not come back. I laughed and walked to my first period. I thought I was going to die of boredom, I was so bored when lunch time had come around. I walked outside to my car. I drove out of the parking lot and to the Ivory Queen for lunch. I ate and drove home to watch my favorite show: Gossip Girl. I eventually got bored and invited my friend Garrett over to 'hang out'. I heard a knock on the door and got up to answer it. "Hey Garrett." I said as I opened the door. "Who's Garrett?" Luciana asked. "Uhh, a friend of mine who's coming over." I said looking around her for him. "Oh, was he tall, skinny, and had really long black hair?" Lucy asked sheepishly. "Yeah." I said angrily. "Oh, well I told him that you weren't interested in him." Lucy said looking away. "Why the heck did you tell him that?" I yelled. "Well, I wasn't sure if you knew him and looked sketchy." Lucy said looking ready to run. "I'll show you sketchy!!" I said running after her. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'M SORRY!!!! AHHH!!!" Luciana said as she was running away from me. I eventually tripped in my boots and fell flat on my face and broke my nose. "OWWWW!!!" I screamed after I heard a crack that came from my nose. Luciana came up to me and picked me up. "Here. Put pressure on the soft spot below the nose with this." Luciana said handing me a hand-kerchief. We both walked to my house and sat down on my couch and waited for my nose to stop bleeding. "Has it stopped bleeding?" I asked slowly taking the hand-kerchief off of my nose. "Yes." Luciana said grabbing the hand-kerchief and putting it in the washer. "How does my nose look?" I said. "Uhhhhhh." Luciana said. I got up and ran to the bathroom. I looked into and gasped because the bone in my nose was completely broken and looked really gross. "Great! Now I look like a troll!" I yelled. "You act like one." I heard Luciana say. "What did you say?!" I said. Maybe I heard her wrong. "I said:"You don't look like one!" Luciana said walking down the hall and came up behind me to look at my nose. If Luciana put makeup on and dressed better, she could be almost as pretty as me. Almost. "Uhh, It's not that bad." Luciana said smiling sheepishly. I walked into the living room and grabbed a pillow and screamed. Luciana just sat next to me and watched me. "Just wait 3 days and your nose will be fine but I have to rebrake it." Luciana said after I was done. "Uhh I don't think so." I said backing away from Luciana. "Don't worry, you'll be fine." "Ok." I said. Luciana took a hold of my nose and rebroke it. Luciana was wrong. It hurt like crap! I started to yell really horrible things to Luciana. She just stared at me with wide eyes. "Sorry, I seriously hope it won't mend crookedly." I said. "You know, Melody has it worse than you so you need to stop complaining about your stupid little nose!" Luciana yelled suddenly. I looked up at her in shock. Lucinana has never talked to anyone like that and I didn't like it at all. I just stared at her and didn't say anything because I didn't want to start anything with her. "I'm sorry  I'm selfish sometimes." I said eventually after a period of silence. "I'm sorry for yelling at you." Luciana said then smiled at me. I leaned over and hugged her and she hugged me. And just then the devil came through the door. "YOU WITCH!!! I HAD TO RIDE THE BUS TO SCHOOL AND THEN I HAD TO WALK HOME BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO DRIVE ME HOME BUT YOU LEFT EARLY!!!! But I got you back because I told Mom." Albany said. She was red in the face then eventually had this awful smirk on her which made me want to slap her. I rolled my eyes. My mom was a threat to me. "I got to go. Bye, Brooklyn." Luciana said quickly and run out of the house because she knew it was going to get ugly. I got up slowly and walked over to Albany. I scoffed. "Seriously? What are you 5? Mom is not my boss anymore." I said smirking. "She is until you're 18." Albany replied with a smile. "I'm my own person and she's doesn't decide anything for me." I spit at her. "Do you seriously believe that?" Albany said looking bored. Then all of a sudden, I slapped her, hard. Albany's jaw was open and she look like she was about to explode. Albany then lunged at me and pulled my hair. "ALBANY!!!!!" I yelled. "SAY YOU'RE SORRY!!! SAY IT!!!! SAY IT!!" Albany screamed, pulling my hair tighter with each word. My hair felt like it was going to rip from my scalp. Then the door opened and my mom was standing in the doorway. Albany jumped off me and sat on the couch. I dropped my head on the floor and sighed in relief. I have never been more glad to see my mom. "Brooklyn, we need to talk about today." My mom said walking to her room to put her coat and shoes away. "I know." I said while my face was in the carpet. I didn't want to see my mom's face which probably looked disappointed and my sister's face which probably looked proud. "Brooklyn, stop being stupid and get off the floor." My mom said somewhere from the couch. I got up and sat on the couch neither my sister or my mom were sitting on. "Brooklyn, seriously on your first day of school, you decide to skip. Why?" My mom said calmly. When my mom didn't yell at you, it was worse because you didn't know when she was going to blow. "I don't have an answer." I mumbled. "Why did you leave Albany this morning?" My mom said. "I didn't feel like waiting for her to get outside and get in the car." I mumbled. "Why do you do the stupidest things? You do see Albany doing anything like that do you?" My mom said. Another reason I hate Albany: Mom loves her more. "I don't know." I mumbled. She sighed. This conversation went on for about 2 hours. "I HATE YOU MOM!!" I yelled down the hall. "WELL YOU BETTER GET USE TO HATING ME BECAUSE I'M GOING TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!" My mom yelled down the hall. I slammed my door shut and jumped onto my bed. Then my phone rang. "Hello?" I answered. "Hey Brooklyn, It's Lucy." Luciana answered on the other line. "Oh, hey." I replied. "Guess what? Benny met Katherine and won't stop talking about her to Ethan. He's determined to be her boyfriend and has a plan to win her over and today was phase 1." Luciana said quickly. "Seriously? That just made my day! I'm going to call Katherine to hear what she has to say about this, ok?" I said smiling. "Ok bye." Luciana said before hanging up. I called Katherine. "Hello?" Katherine answered. "So I hear Benny has a little boy crush on you!" I said trying not to laugh. "Yeah, I guess he does why?" Katherine replied annoyed. "Well Benny is determined to be your boyfriend so you know he'll probably be around you alot trying to get to know and for you to get to know him and eventually you'll fall in love with the dork and live happily ever after and from what I've heard today the plan is in phase 1." I said enjoying this more than I should. "I don't like him, ok? He's more of the friend type." Katherine replied obviously not wanting to talk to me. "Ok, whatever." I said but knowing she would fall in love the nerd. He was like disease you couldn't get away from not even if you tried. "Is there anything else you want to talk to me about?" Katherine said sounding bored. "Nope. Bye." I said. "Bye." Katherine said. I texted Luciana and asked for Benny's number and when she texted me back with his number I texted him Katherine's number. I laughed. Katherine was going to hate me but it was worth it. I ate dinner and got ready for bed. I stared at my ceiling and smiled. Oh, Katherine. You're in for a crazy ride.
