Did you know that when someone dies, the world blinks? More quickly than a split fraction of a second, everything goes black. Pitch black. The kind of darkness that makes up most of the universe. It’s as if this realm has to catch its breath at the loss of one of its own and focus on shifting the matter of the soul somewhere else.
That’s my hypothesis anyway.
But I’m in the unique position to watch it happen. Fredrick and I both can see it. He, The Destroyer of Life; and I, The Carrier of Burdens, lugging those sticky remnants of lives that can’t yet disperse.
