Smile

CHAPTER 1

" Raina, smile. " said the dentist.

" ..., ? , 😁" I smiled.

I flashed a big happy smile going across my face.

" good. Lets get you set up in a chair, and the orthodontist will look at your teeth in a few minutes. " said the lady dentist.

" hi Raina! I'm Dr.Dragoni." Said of course, Dr. Dragoni.

"Hi..."

" So, you are in sixth grade? Where do you go to school?" He asked like I was some long lost friend.

" HJKMP TSS" I said under the operation.

After the operation was over, I went outside to my mom and my sister Amara. She looks like mom more than I do to mom. And I was the first child! Shouldn't I bee getting my moms jeans?

" I still don't see why I need braces, mom. My teeth looks okay to "ME"! " I said to her.

" c'mon will" she said Tomy little brother who sat on the dentist couch.

" You have an overbite, honey. It's something that can cause problems later if you don't get it fixed." Mom explained i the car settling Will's seatbelt. " oh" I sighed.

"You're gonna be a METAL MOUTH!!!" Amara screamed teasing me as mom drove. I covered my ears tight. " Amara, please don't tease her..." Mom said fixing her down.

Then, we came to my stop at the scout meeting.

" have a good time at your scout meeting. Okay? " mom said. " Kelli's mom will drive you home later."

" 'Kay. Thanks mom!" I said.

I ran to the meeting as I found my seven friends Jenny, Kelli, Nicole, Karin, Melissa, Kaylah, And Emily. And of couse, our troop leader, Jill.

" your getting braces, too? It's not to bad." Calmed Jenny. " " You can't chew popcorn...or apples...or carrots. Or gum. Or taffy. Or caramel. Or...-" she said on and on.

' Maybe that means I'll stop chewing my ' nails', too! ' I thought over her speaking. I checked my chewed up nails in surprise.

ONE HOUR LATER

"... And at our next meeting, we'll be making Easter egg baskets! See you then! Said Jill. I left with my other friends ( without Emily) at midnight to Kelli's car.

" is it okay if I drop you off first, Raina?" Kelli's mom asked smiling. " sure" I replied.

" Kelli, you and Melissa walk Raina to her porch, okay?" Kelli's mom said.

We decided to race. " Race You Guys!!!" Melissa said running out of the car. " Last one to the Porch is a rotten egg!" Kelli added. " wait up!"

" KELLI---" I said cheating and holding onto her sweater cap. GRAB! I stumbled and fell...

" HAHA!!! " Kelli said running away not looking at me. She wasn't laughing because I fell. She was nice. Kelli just hadn't relized I fell over.

*gasp!* WHAM!

" Missed me! " continued Kelli without any heared of me falling.

" Raina? " Kelli turned around lost.

'...' I thought. ' hands...legs... Nothing broken.cool...' But, there was brood on the floor when I just realized something did break.

" Raina?" Kelli's mom Said running over.

"Ow..."

" are you okay?" She asked.

That was when I totally lost it and freaked out. " AAAAAAAA!!!"
