Chapter 2 - Mind Of a Child

*Wow! I'm so pleased with how this is going - I know 60 views isn't that much in Wattpad terms but for someone who didn't expect any this is soooo brilliant! It was a great match! Watching Dr Div dive for the ball in goals I swear was one of the funniest things I've seen in my life! It was weird though because in the last five minutes of the match Daniel fell awkwardly twisting his ankle badly, causing him to get taken off to the benches. It was then that Lexie turned to me with a sympathetic look on her face but I could see the evil smile playing in her eyes. Was I missing something here?

The pupils won 6:2 in the end meaning Mr Stevenson had to perform a beautiful rendition of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' from 'The Wizard Of Oz' musical, as he'd promised he'd do if the teachers lost. I swear I nearly wet myself when Daniel decided to give him some background vocals. The whole team joined in, dancing around Mr Stevenson. This lead to some very funny videos being posted to Youtube.

I spent most my evening texting Daniel who had been house bound due to his ankle. It's only twisted but it is badly bruised so he is left hobbling around. I couldn't help thinking about what Lexie said; about what I don't know. Maybe she's just trying to twist my thoughts so I doubt Daniel so much that we split and then he'll be hers for the taking. Maybe I'm just over-thinking this.... hell knows!!

School was closed in the morning due to flooding caused by a massive downpour last night; carrying on through to this morning. I was going to take the opportunity to spend time with Daniel but he said he was too tired and would like to just sleep so I ended up crashing at Eiko's where Andrew had decided – as their parents were away at work for a few days – not to have a house party like normal teenagers do. No. He wanted to turn the whole house into a fort using the vast amount of cushions, blankets and duvets they owned for some reason.

Esther ended up coming over to help with the project along with a few of Andy's mates who both Esther and Eiko drooled over for the rest of the day. It took us 'til the evening to get it completely finished but it was worth it! It had random tunnels leading to various areas such as 'Andy's Sex House' aka. his bedroom, which was basically a ball of duvets and was definitely the comfiest room by far. Some rooms weren't part of the fort due to a shortage of building material so the kitchen and the bathroom were left untouched. There was a tunnel leading to each of them though, and a very dodgy tunnel going up the stairs. It was tiring work being so creative so we ended up ordering a big chinese to feed everyone and as Eiko said she'd kick people out if they made a mess of the kitchen, the food was taken to random areas of the fort. Eiko and Esther stayed glued to Andy's friends and followed them to the sitting room while Andy and I decided to leave the stalkers to attack their prey.

“You look beautiful today, Dee,” Andy murmured after he'd finished his strange chicken thing he was eating. I looked up at him bemused.

“Thanks Andy, lookin' pretty damn fiiine yourself,” I laughed nudging him with my elbow. He sighed sadly and looked up at me with a sad smile playing on his lips.

“ I know. I know,” he replied, laughing softly whilst lying down on the padded floor. He moving his dirty plates away to the entrance of the duvet grotto. I stacked my dishes on top of his and lay down next to him. “Ever wondered what would have happened if you'd played your cards differently?” He sounded so distant I couldn't work out if it was a rhetorical question or not.

“Urmmm, I guess so. But I guess there's no point thinking about what could have been...” I pondered hoping that was the right thing to say. He just sighed and looked at me, smiling a sweet smile, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me in for a hug.

We sat there for what seemed like forever, just listening to the muffled conversations from the rest of them downstairs. From what we could work out they were playing 'Have You Ever'. To my shock I discovered that Eiko – the supposedly 'quiet one' - had 'pleasured' a guy once when she was drunk! I could feel Andy tense up, grinding his teeth when he heard that confession.

He was just about to get up and give her hell when I rolled over and pushed him back down, looking in his eyes I explained how he can't control her, of all people, and how it wasn't worth ruining a good day with an argument. He looked me straight in the eyes and I could see him softening and I smiled lightly winking at him. He chuckled and once I could see the anger was completely gone, I rolled back off him.

I knew how to twist this guy right how I needed, he's such a sweet lil' push over. It was then that we had a tickle war which resulted in me crawling away out of the 'Sex House' as fast as I could before I ended up kicking him in the face. I decided then that I would crash the flirting party downstairs and barged into the sitting room laughing my head off looking like a loon. The bemused look on everyone’s faces sent me further into hysterics causing Esther and Eiko to start laughing and when Andy hurled himself through the passage entry landing on top of me the whole room was in stitches.

“You're one fat bugger Andy!!” I laughed breathlessly.

“I know. I try my best,” he chuckled, winking at me. He does have quite a fit body actually: his muscles are definitely there but not too big; his skin was a lovely and tanned and his hair. Wow, don't even get me started! I just want to run my hands through it... wait. I'm not seriously checking out my one of my best friends/my best friend's brother am I? That's just wrong Dee, get a freaking grip of yourself! You have one very sexy boyfriend anyway, and my God isn't he sexy!

I must have gone off in a daydream about Daniel as Esther was waving a hand in front of my face laughing. I shook my head to get rid of the rather gorgeous images of my boyfriend and bum-shuffled into a gap in between Esther and Eiko and we carried on the game of 'Have You Ever'.

We all ended up spending the night in our duvet fort snuggled into each other – Esther made it so she could snuggle up with Martin and Eiko giggled incessantly at every word Simon said, gazing at him the whole time.

I was in the centre of the room for a bit until it got really cold in the middle of the night when I started freezing as I only had a thin blanket covering me due to the fact all the duvets/sleeping bags were being used as tunnels. Andy must not have been asleep and obviously heard me shivering as he crawled over and pulled me into his arms and wrapped his blanket tightly round both of us, keeping me lovely and warm. I swear that guy is such a good friend it's almost painful!
