Generally in Asian culture, men is the breadwinner for the family and women are the home maker. This is why the stability of a man's financial is very crucial when it comes to marriage.

However, fret not guys, I personally believe that it is always good to have two incomes. However, in the later stage of marriage, due to the rising of casualty cases regarding infants at day care centers and abusive maids/baby-sitters, there are high chances of women sacrificing their career to be a full time house wife raising children on her own taking care of the family. Resulting in solely depending on husband's income and savings plus wife's savings instead of two incomes and savings. Thus, making the husband's economy stability a main priority.
