---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapter Two

When we finally got to the class room, Josh went in ahead of me and sat in the last seat of the second row.  I didn't know whether to just take a seat or wait for the teacher , apparently named Mr. Taylor as that was what was written on the board, to tell me where to sit.  I cleared my throat trying to to get the attention of the middle-aged man writing the Pythagorean theorem on the board.  To my pleasure, he turned around and motioned me towards the front of the class.  "Hi. I'm Kat-" , I started to say but was cut off with a "shhh...".

"Class, this is Katarina Greene, our newest student.", he said while I gave a shy smile to the class.  "Katarina, take a seat anywhere you like." I nodded and looked around the classroom for a place to sit.  I see Josh and looking at me and motion the empty seat next to him, smirking.  I smile at him and start walking towards him...but quickly take the seat next to a girl with fiery red locks.

"Hi. I'm Katarina."

"Hahaha, yeah I know.  Remember, Mr. Taylor just told the whole class", she said with a smile, "I'm Leonna. Harris. Leonna Harris."   Now that she's facing me, I see that Leonna has intense green eyes that are absolutely mesmerizing.  Her skin is a gorgeous milky white and she's wearing a daring black pair of jeans with a black mesh crop-top that has an orange tank top under.  We talk a little about my classes and find out that we have first, second, and fifth period together.  I was glad to have found a friend as cool and realistic as Leonna.  Just as she was about to tell me a joke, Mr. Taylor shushes us and starts explaining everything that he wrote on the board.

"Ugh. Math needs to die or something.", Leonna says with pure disgust.  I start to laugh but Mr. Taylor gives me a look like i really shouldn't.  So I rip a piece of my notebook paper and write: I wouldn't mind going to that funeral.  I see Leonna smile out of the corner of my eye and decide that I should probably pay attention to the lesson.

=========One Period Later==========

I love English, but I am so glad to be out of the class.  It was unusually boring, and I'm not easily bored.  As I walk into my third period room, I notice that Josh is already sitting at a lab table.  And more importantly, I see the lovely Jen staring at Josh's back, practically drooling.  This little sight-to-see made me laugh.  Louder than I would have liked, because the class suddenly turned to look at me.  "Ahhh...you must be my new student,", Mr. Alan, the science teacher said to me while looking at his clipboard for my name, "Katarina. Now class, I know how much all of you wanted to work in groups of two...and now that Katarina has graciously joined our class, we have enough people so that there may be two on each group.  But before you all get excited and pair off, you'll have to listen to the procedures and guidelines that I will happily tell you all about, as soon a Katarina takes a seat. Katarina sit anywhere you like."

For the third time today, I look around the classroom looking for a place to sit.  Once again I see Josh motion me to sit at the stool in front of him in at the lab table.  I look around the class once more and see that i didn't know anyone except for Josh in this class.  With a slight frown on my face I get up and sit where Josh was motioning.  As I get out my notebook, I feel the gaze of Josh on my head and look up to see him smirking his face off.

"So, you finally decided you want to sit next to me, eh?", he says with a cocky smile playing on his lips.

"Haha.  And the only reason I'm sitting where I am is because I don't know anyone else here.", I say with a smile of my own. I quickly turn around before he could respond and take some notes on frogs...which we are supposedly supposed to be dissecting.  I felt a pang of excitement jolt through me and then look around the class.  Looks like the guys are happy, but as for the girls...well, it lookes like I'm the only one who's excited.
