Descent
Guts seethe in resistance,
Tired of your absurdity,
Wondering what exactly
Made me so unworthy.
Thousands of allegations,
Pointed a denouncing claw.
All but my twisted up soul,
Blame my human skepticism.
Thoughts revise old words,
Once meant for loving help,
Sensing the hidden truth,
Shadows and raging fire.
Lost between light and dark,
Clutch firm your sacred hope,
Just so players can watch,
You squirm in anguish.
Pain reaches the pinnacle.
The dark subdues the struggle.
Speculating your forged love,
Vengeance slicing me to the bone.
Grins on contented grim faces,
Remind me of radiance and vision.
Innards coil in final rebellion,
Against my willful descent.
Through lies and temptation,
I strove to make it all true,
But shoved into my destiny,
This empty shell filled with fire.
Bleak darkness falls over my lids.
No reprieve from the burning,
To feel release is to cave to rage.
Liberation is my black descent.
