Chapter 21

Here's to kids that try their hardest to be the best for everyone

Porter's POV

"Have we found any clues?" I ask the search team.

As of right now we're trying to find Sally and her kidnappers.

"Yes, Luna. We have reason to believe it is a small secluded town just North of here."  Jack says, Rachel's older brother aka the current pack warrior.

"Where in the town?"

"Unaware, at the moment. Thats what we need to figure out."

"Alright I have a plan." J.T. says.

We all shoot him expecting looks.

"Okay, well clearly we won't find her by staring at a map. I say we go to the town itself and see if we can catch  a scent."

"Brilliant." I say.

The sooner the better, we need this out of the way before Rachel and Fane arrive tomorrow. 

I know it sounds selfish but appearance is everything in the social structure of packs.

"Let's go." Patrick says.

Jack, Patrick, Liam, Mitch, Max, J.T., and I immediately exit the pack house.

We all run straight towards the woods, shifting before in the cover of trees.

Sprinting at full speed towards the neighboring town we are there within twenty mintues.

'Split up and sniff around for Sally's scent.' J.T. mind links.

I take the Southwest flank. 

A familiar scent begins to tickle my senses.

'I've got something.' I mind link the rest of the team.

'Great! Where?' Liam mind links back.

'One mile behind the local grocery store.'

Patrick and Jack are at my side within seconds, everyone else coming within the same minute.

'I smell it too.' Patrick links.

'It gets stronger the farther you go left.' Mitch links.

Eventually we stumble upon an abandoned warehouse.

Wow hunters, real cliche.

I'm about to take the first step forward when a bullet skims the tree next to me.

'Down!' J.T. roars inside my head.

Like hell I am.

I spring forward, ripping apart the hunter who had been hiding. 

Next thing you know a metal door slams open with about twenty hunters running outside.

By the time one notices me my pack mates are on them.

I go charging towards one who has their back turned to me, breaking his neck as I pounce forward.

J.T. throws another hunter my way as he takes on three more at once.

I grab his neck with my powerful jaw and crush his windpipe.

As soon as it had started the battle was practically over.

I shift back to human form, running into the building.

A small smile plays on my lips as I hear J.T. growl at the others to look away from my naked form.

"Sally?" I shout.

"Here." A broken voice whispers.

My head snaps to the right at the small, dry voice.

"Guys! I've found her." I shout to the team.

Patrick and Liam are there in a flash.

Their eyes begin to glow as their wolves take over at the sight of their bruised sister.

"Sally what did they do to you?" I hear Liam say as lightly as he can.

"They-y-y r-r-rapped me." Her voice cracks serval times as she tells them

J.T. lightly touches my shoulder and turns me around.

'Time to go home.' J.T. whispers into my head.

I nod my head.

I understand this is a family affair. Not my place.
