The water was cold.

It was the first thing I noticed when I hit the salty cerulean waves. Besides 'Ow'. After that, it was just cold. And heavy. I had never expected water would be so heavy at just twenty feet down. But it is. And it just gets heavier in a thick, frilly Victorian dress. With a metal hupe skirt. It had already been hard to breathe without water digging at my lungs. The corset itself had almost made me faint. It might have been the cause of my fall.

This hadn't been the plan. The party, the love, the falling. It really hadn't. But, of course, as my life goes, nothing ever follows the plan. But up to that point, I had had the best life ever.
