Dust

We talked about random things that sometimes led to serious conversations. I remembered you saying that in the vastness of the universe, we are just a speck of dust trying to blend with the stars, the galaxies and even the farthest existing planets. You told me we do not matter-- at all.

I want to tell you that you're wrong the moment your lips spit out those words. I want to tell you it's not true. But then I realized words weren't enough to make a point. So I hugged you. Tight. Until you realize that you're the kind of dust which I would like to keep for myself. Until you feel that you matter--

You matter to me.
