Nakapila kami ngayon sa open field ng Kingston Academy kung saan gaganapin ang basketball tryout, nirerenovate daw kasi ang court ngayon kaya dito muna kami for now. Kadarating lamang ng coach..hmm weird, he doesn't look like the kind of coach I was thinking of just this morning. He's wearing a cowboy hat, pink polo shirt, khaki colored jeans and leather shoes. He actually seems like the "know-it-all" type if you ask me.
Coach: Listen up! Sisimulan natin ang season na to where we last left off. I guarantee everyone of you that this season will be a lot tougher and harder than the last so ngayon pa lang, binibigyan ko na kayo ng chance para umatras.
Wala namang umapila sa amin..
Coach: Good good. I am Kim Atienza para sa mga newbie.
Naglakad sya sa line na binuo namin at isa-isa nya kaming tiningnan.
Kuya Kim: Okay! Show out some skin!
Oh no! Di ako pedeng maghubad! "Uh..ehem! I have to be on shirt, Coach." I said. I have to think of a reason why...and fast!
Kuya Kim: What?
"I..I am allergic to the sun." seriously, Karylle? Blah, I already said it..kelangan ko na lang panindigan.
Kuya Kim: You're allergic to the sun?
"Ye-yeah..very allergic..super..deathly allergic..? I said without thinking if that reason is even valid.
Kuya Kim: Oh really? Lucky for you, di ako ganung kahigpit pagdating dyan.
"Thank you, Coach!" you're right, luck is indeed on my side so far.
Maya-maya pa ay nagsimula na ang tryout. Kung anu-anong drill ang ipinagawa sa amin. Ang huli ay 100 push ups na halos kalahati sa amin ay nakahiga na at di na nakaabot ng 100. Ako? I was already kissing the ground. Grabe, I feel like fainting anytime soon.
*PRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT*
Tunog ng whistle ni Coach hudyat na tapos na ang tryout. Pinalibutan namin sya.
Kuya Kim: Okay so meron ako ditong red shirt na ibibigay ko sa napili kong "1st five" but for those na di ko mabibigyan, don't take it too hard, you're just as important as the 1st except of course the playing part.
Isa-isa ng tinawag at ibinigay ni Coach ang mga red shirt sa kanyang 1st five. "Crawford..........Hilario..........Corpuz..........Bang..........and Viceral" and just like that, parang gumuho ang mundo ko..I feel like crying but I shouldn't. I have to show them I'm strong. I still have time pa naman to prove them I deserve to be included in the 1st five eh. Yeah! I ain't givin' up that easy!
Kuya Kim: Now, hit the showers!
Nagsipuntahan na kami sa shower room.
Billy: Shower time!
Nanlaki ang aking mga mata..shower time? Nakatayo lamang ako doon, I don't know what to do. Napagbabangga nako ng mga players na tanging towel na lang ang nakatakip sa kanilang middle part and then may nag-abot sakin ng isang towel. Oh no!
Kuya Kim: Tatlonghari! No shower for you!
"Huh?"
Kuya Kim: Gusto kang makausap ng principal. Now.
"OKAY!" I said with a big smile on my face. I hurriedly went out of the shower room, not really caring if my sweatshirt is full of dirt.
Ng makarating nako sa principal's office ay andun na sya, si Principal Klein. Kinumusta lang nya ang first day of school ko saka konting chikahan. I'm surprised wala pang nakakahalata sa akin, I must be really convincing.
After 15 minutes ay pinalabas na nya ko. Pagkasarado ko ng door ay tumalikod nako para maglakad ng biglang..
*BLAG!*
"Awww! Sorry!" I bend down on one knee para pulutin ang mga books na nalaglag sa sahig. I bumped into this girl kasi..
Girl: No it's okay, don't worry about it.
She smiled.
Then the door of the office suddenly opened.
Principal: What is--
We both looked up para tingnan si Principal..
Principal: Ohhhh..getting to know the opposite sex, are we? Hehe. I can feel the sexual tension around here. That's all part of the High School experience so just continue what you're doing but keep it clean though and always remember! Abstinence is key. Abstinence is the best way to..you know..alam niyo na yun. Ok bye!
He babbled then he closed the door.
Okay that was really weird. Ano bang pinagsasabi nya.. >_> I shook my head then looked to the girl infront of me na kasalukuyang tumatawa at nakatingin sa akin. Sabay kaming tumayo. "Ganyan ba talaga lagi ang principal natin? Always so...uh...friendly?" I asked.
Girl: Haha are you kidding? That's him being rude.
"Uh-huh..right." sagot ko then napatingin ako sa shoes nya. "Oh! Cute shoes!"
Girl: You think so? I got it on that small shop beside Frenchie Bistro.
"No way! They have shoes there?" (girl voice)
Girl: Yes.
She answered, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"AH-HAH!" (girl voice) bigla akong napatigil ng marealize ko na nadadala na pala ako sa girly conversation namin. Oh crap! "Ahm..ehem! Your books." back to deep voice. Iniabot ko sa kanya ang books nya.
Girl: Thanks. *smiles*
"Ahm..okay so aalis nako..you know, need to take care of some...guy stuff." she just nodded and smiled at me. Agad akong naglakad palayo. I almost screwed up geez I hope di sya nagduda sakin.
