ALOT of things are ironic in the phandom, it mainly comes out of over dank memes or a new meme that somehow relates to Dan and Phil.
Most of the time if it sounds like someone is being mean towards Dan and Phil check for lololololol!1!!!1!1 or just a general sarcastic tone. It just means that the person is trying to be funny and doesn't actually mean what they are saying.
But be careful folks, if you are trying to be ironic make sure it sounds like it, otherwise people might get offended and the Phandom can be pretty protective over Dan and Phil.
