Cal-Pal

"Cal, can you do something for me?" You asked sweetly as you set up the lights and camera equipment to film your new video.
"What is it?" He replied, looking at you suspiciously.
"Will you film a video with me for my channel?" You said and Calum instantly rolled his eyes.
"Why do you want me to be on your channel so bad? You always just talk about make-up and clothes and hair! I know nothing about that stuff! Besides you always secretly film me for your vlogs and do weird commentary," he laughed.
"That's because I'm hilarious and everyone loves it! Please, you only have to answer some questions. The Boyfriend/Girlfriend Tag is the most requested video on my channel, I must give the viewers what they want!" You begged.
"Fine but let me go fix my hair and change my shirt," he said and walked out of the room.
You finished setting up your equipment and pulled up the questions on your phone. You scanned through them and squealed with excitement. Calum came back in with a clean shirt and neat hair.
"You ready?" You asked as you fixed the focus on the camera.
"Yep," Calum smiled and sat down on the couch. You fiddled with the camera some more and then sat down right beside him. After a couple takes, you finally got a good intro.
"Are you ready for the first question, Cal?" You grinned excitedly.
"I feel like I'm taking a test in school but yeah, I'm ready," he said.
"How did we meet?" You said and Calum's eyes went wide.
"Umm," he said and scratched his neck nervously.
"You don't know how we met?!" You cried in horror. "You're the worst boyfriend ever. I'll answer that question, I suppose."
"I'm sorry, baby. It was like 5 years ago," Calum whined.
"Whatever. I was a friend of Luke's and I was at his house one day and Cal and Michael came around unexpectedly and Luke introduced me. We knew each other for nearly a year through Luke but we weren't really good friends but then we grew closer and after about 6 months, Calum asked me out," you said.
"Oh yeah! I remember now," Calum said and wrapped his arms around your shoulders, pulling you in for a hug. "Sorry, I forgot. I'm a bad boyfriend."
"True but I love you anyways. Next question, where was our first date?" You said. "Get this wrong and you're sleeping in the spare room, Hood."
"I know this! We played laser tag with Luke and Michael, it was us against them, and afterwards I took you out for dinner. The laser tag wasn't really the date part because Michael and Luke were there but I guess it still kinda counts," Calum said and you gave him a high five.
"Okay, what was your first impression of me?" You said and gave him a stern look as if to say, 'Answer wisely.'
"First of all, I thought you were dating Luke because you were laying on his bed watching a movie together. I honestly thought you were really pretty and friendly. You were funny and you laughed at everything, you were really happy. You were super out-going and you seemed really trustworthy even though I had literally just met you," Calum said.
"Aww, baby!" You gushed. "Give me a kiss." You took his cheeks in your hands and pressed your lips to his.
"I'm on a roll, hit me with the next question," Calum laughed when you pulled away.
"Where was our first kiss and how was it?" You laughed, thinking of your horrid first kiss.
"Oh God. It was in Michael's granny flat and it was just horrible. We were so awkward and then in the middle of it Michael's mum came in looking for Mike! Thank God, our kisses aren't like that anymore," Calum laughed.
"That kiss used to give me nightmares!" You laughed. "Okay, the next question is, when did you meet my family?"
"The first time I met your mum ever was when she gave me a ride home with you after school because it was raining and the next bus wasn't for another 45 minutes. The first time I officially met your family as your boyfriend was at your brothers 18th birthday so your whole family was there, as in your grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I was totally shitting myself because I was terrified of your brother and I was really nervous to meet everyone else in case they didn't like me and we'd only been together like 2 weeks. To make it worse, you looked absolutely gorgeous that night," Calum said.
"You were scared of my brother?" You laughed. "You guys are like best friends now! I think he comes over so much to just see you, not me."
"Hey, I was this scrawny sixteen year old and your brother and his friends terrified me but then when we started talking it was cool," he defended himself.
"Okay, next question is, do we have a tradition?" You said.
"Um, I don't really think we do. We go to my parents for dinner every second Sunday. We do date night every week, I guess that's a tradition," Calum said.
"Yeah, we don't really have a set tradition. What was our first road trip?" You read off your phone.
"Oh, this is a funny story. So Michael and Ashton had gone to Melbourne for something, I cant even remember what it was, and when they were coming home their flight got cancelled. There wasn't another one until the next day but they needed to be home because Ashton had an exam at Uni at the same time as the next flight. They called me and asked me to drive 8 hours to Melbourne and me being the idiot I am said yes. I called (Y/N) and asked her to come and that's it really," Calum laughed.
"Oh my God, that was so much fun but I didn't want to get in to a car for 2 weeks after that. Who said 'I love you' first and where were you?" I asked.
"Aww, things are about to get mushy," Calum laughed and pulled you closer to him and kissed your head. "One day, (Y/N) was sick in bed so I decided I would be a good boyfriend and I brought her over some movies, junk food and a McDonalds. She was laid out on the couch with tissues everywhere and I gave her a hug and handed her the McDonalds. She went 'I love you. Thanks so much.' and I literally froze in her arms and I didn't know what to say so I just said 'Your welcome.' and pretended I didn't hear it.
It was like a month later and it was our 6-month anniversary so I took you out for a dinner. You came back to my house to watch some movies and just chill out and I just said this huge speech about how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I didn't even plan it out but you just looked beautiful and I thought I never want to do this with anyone else and I'd been thinking for a little while that I think I loved you since before you said it to me first so it just sorta came out. You said that you love me so much too and when you said it to me a month ago that you meant it."
"Yep, that's how it happened. I cried and Calum cried too," you nodded.
"I did not!" Calum said.
"You so did! When I went home, Luke texted me that you went over to his and you fucking bawled your eyes out saying that you love me," you laughed. "Just admit it, you're a big softie and you were head over heels for me."
"I still am head over heels for you, baby girl," he grinned and kissed your nose.
"I'm going to have to edit out so many kisses," you whined. "Control yourself, dude, you'll have me all to yourself when this is finished."
"Dude?" Calum laughed and with a roll of his eyes he added, "Just ask me the next question."
"What do we argue over the most?" You said.
"I know, it doesn't look like it in public but behind closed doors we argue about everything. No, actually we just fight with each other the whole time, even in public," Calum laughed.
"It's not even fighting like we literally argue over the dumbest things and then we just start laughing and that's it. For example, we could be in town or something and we would be deciding where to get lunch and Calum would purposely say something the total opposite of what I said. He does it on purpose, just to annoy me! If I said we should get Italian, he does be all whiny like, 'But, babe, I got a pizza last night with the boys.', and it's so freaking annoying," you said.
"No, what about you when we go shopping? I would be reading off the list and I'd ask (Y/N) to go get shampoo or something and it would be like 10 minutes later so I'd have to go look for her and she would be standing in front of a display of shampoos comparing about 10 different bottles. It all does the same thing! You only need it to wash your hair," Calum said.
"Okay, I must stop you there. Buying shampoo is the hardest decision of my life because I always use the same but if I want to try out another one I want it to be great. You guys can back me up in the comments," you said.
"I cant believe we're arguing over what we argue over," Calum laughed. "To answer the original question, we're both super annoying people and we love to annoy each other so we argue pretty much everyday over everything."
"That's pretty true. Next question is, what's my job?" You said.
"YouTube counts as a job, right?" Calum asked.
"Yeah, I guess it does. I mean, it's how I make a living so," you shrugged.
"Well, that one was easy," he laughed. "Next question, please."
"Who wears the pants in the relationship?" You asked.
"Uh, I'm scared to answer this. I want to say you but I wear them sometimes so it's sorta 50/50," Calum said.
"Yeah, that's true. Like we kinda have on leg each in the pants," you laughed.
"We share the pants," Calum chuckled.
"The last question is pretty deep, Cal, so you might want to get the scuba gear out. How did you know I was the one?" You asked.
"Oh, that's easy," he shrugged. "Like when I was a teenager, I'd get a girlfriend be with her for a couple months then just get bored or realise there was nothing there. When we started dating, I was still only 16 but there was something about you that I just loved from the beginning. You are my best friend in the whole world and before anything else you are my best friend and I think that's what makes us work. We love each other more than anything but we're not just boyfriend/girlfriend, we're best friends and we always remember that. I realised what I was looking for wasn't a girlfriend, it was a best friend, and that's when I knew you were the one."
"Aww, Calum. You're the sweetest boy ever," you giggled and hugged him tight.
"And just a disclaimer, boys if you watch this, you're my best mates too," Calum laughed.
You finished up the video, doing your usual outro and telling everyone to come back next week for a new video. You shut off the camera and put the memory card in your laptop to edit later.
"That was really fun," Calum said. "When can we do another?"
"You want to film again?" You asked in shock.
"Yeah, I had tons of fun. Can I be on your channel every week?" He replied.
"Honey, I have videos filmed for the next couple weeks but as soon as I need you, I'll call you," you said.
"Okay, I cant wait," he grinned and kissed your cheek.
