Anguished Land
Shamans dressed in rabbit's fur and tanned buckskin call upon Mother Earth for healing; elderberry-stem flutes chant harmonious refrains. Robins, mockingbirds, and gray catbirds gather in birdsong, acid rain descends; the lone eagle cries in disbelief as Mother Earth thunders her answer.
Earthquake undulates
A slithering mating call
And swallows it's prey.
