Don’t waste your tears on a guy who never loved you
He never meant it when he called you his ‘boo’
Never meant it when he said that you were his baby
And sung you a song about calling you maybe
You deserve to use that beautiful smile of yours
The one he said that he’d always adore
You shouldn’t be the one crying yourself to sleep
Or waiting by the telephone hoping it’d make a peep
He left you when you gave him your all
You were scared but he promised he’d break your fall
You think of all the lies he told you in the past
How could forever end so fast?
The heartache makes you sick to your stomach
But promise me child you won’t succumb it
You’ve always been strong you were born that way
Trust me he will miss you at the end of the day
You shouldn’t have been the only one making all the effort
You’ve been through this already you should have known better
He made you feel stupid for believing all he said
But he’ll be thinking of you as he lies in his cold bed
Remember he’s just a guy and he will miss you
And in the end you won’t be the only one crying too
He will regret what he has done
Breaking your heart and thinking that he has won
The sky above him is no longer blue
He has hurt you, but has also taught you
To be a better person you must let go of the past
And tell those who’ve hurt you to kiss your ass
It’s been a long and tough year
Filled with screaming, yelling, and tears
I know you will always love him more than anything
Even until the light in your heart starts dimming
But why cry for someone who never cared
Who told you he’d be there whenever you were scared
Told you that nothing could take his love for you away
Even if it were a dark secret you were too afraid to say
He was so paranoid and didn’t trust your love
Thought you’d slip off to your ex like a loose glove
As long as you know that you’ve tried your best
Just next time put on that bullet proof vest
You were prepared for a future of stashes of Mr. Goodbars
To go camping in the dark with bears as you looked up at the stars
That future is no longer yours to yearn for
But someone else will come and help you restore
Instead of jumping over your wall of protection
He will build a door and bring you out of your depression
He will honor and cherish you till death do you part
But for now girl wait for him and protect that beautiful heart.
