Attitudes

"I just don't think it's a good idea." Edward pressed for the millionth time since I had told him about Sam inviting me over.

Once Sam had left, the Cullen clan had practically teleported over to my house. Alice, of course, had a vision and Edward being the over-protective dope that he is, rushed everyone over to make sure I was okay.

"I understand that, Toni, but he came out of his way to personally ask me to stop by. It must be something important." I sighed, getting tired of this little tiff.

Edward groaned as he looked to Carlisle for help.

I didn't understand what the big deal was. If Sam thought I could help Jacob in some way, then I was at least going to show up and try. It was rare for Sam to even come near our kind unless he was hunting them, so this had to be important.

Besides even if this was some kind of trap, I can take care of myself. It's almost been a century since Edward had actually been around. I doubt he'd be able to know how strong I've gotten just by looking at me. I shook my head in irritation.

"Perhaps, Edward would feel a bit more relaxed if you took someone with you." Carlisle suggested, cutting through my thoughts.

"I don't need anyone to babysit me. Besides, I don't think anyone here is exactly buddy-buddy with the wolves, do you?" I asked Carlisle, sarcasm clear in my tone.

"Well," Rosalie snickered, "There is one person.."

"No!" Edward and I snapped at the same time.

I didn't wanna be anywhere near that girl alone if I could help it. I don't think Edward would appreciate it if I murdered his girlfriend out of jealousy and spite.

Edward narrowed his eyes at me.

"Look, I'm going over to Sam's this weekend whether anyone here likes it or not." I snapped. "So just get over it. I'm not going to continue fighting about it."

"But, Ellie-"

"No, buts, Toni. You weren't there for before and I sure as hell don't need you here now. I can take care of myself." I growled.

Hurt flashed through Edward's eyes, but I ignored it. I wasn't going to sit here and follow his every word just because he tells me too. Sam asked me to go so I'm going. I glared at Edward as I got up and walked to my room. I slammed the door shut and locked it.

They could show themselves out.

 The week flew by quickly after my argument with the Cullen's. I had spent the better part of my week attempting to avoid Edward. He was still trying to convince me not to go. By the time the week was over, I was ready to snap Edward's neck myself.

I sighed in relief as the final bell rang signaling the end of the school day. I was out the door before anyone else. I had made it a mission to leave the school campus before Edward could stop me and drag me back to the Cullen household. But as fate would have it, I wasn't about to get off that easy.

"Ellie, wait!" Edward shouted, running after me.

I inwardly groaned. What now?

Edward caught up to me as I walked out the school. I wasn't about to argue with him about this again. it was pointless. I had my mind made up.

I felt Edward bump into me as I came to a sudden halt. I cocked an eyebrow as I stared into Jacob's eyes. Now just what was he doing here?

"What do you want?" Edward snapped at the same time Bella asked, "What are you doing here?"

Jacob glared at Edward, ignoring his question. He wouldn't even look at Bella. I watched in slight amusement as Bella puffed out her bottom lip in frustration. What was going on here?

"Let's go." Jacob said, directing his statement to me.

"Go? Where?" I asked.

"To Sam's. Where else?" Jacob muttered, rolling his eyes.

I growled. I didn't know what crawled up his ass, but he seriously needed to pull it out.

"Lose the attitude, Jakey." I snapped, as I walked towards him.

Edward moved to grab my arm, but I pulled away. I shot a glare to him as I climbed onto the back of Jacob's bike. I was growing tired of Edward's possessiveness. I wasn't his fiancee anymore so he had no right to control me.

Ellie. Edward warned.

I'll see you later. I snapped as Jacob revved the engine and sped off.
