There was girl,

There was a girl he wanted desperately,

A girl with whom he knew he’d never be.

A girl who others called quite bland.

A girl they could not understand.

There was a girl,

There was a girl he promised he’d protect.

A girl he’d protect to his final breath.

A girl he at any time would defend.

A girl who he said saw him as just a friend.

There was a girl,

There was a girl that would confide in him.

A girl he wished would spend all her days with him.

He tried to keep the feelings in.

Instead they filled up to the brim.
