This is my second story here on Wattpad. To be honest I'm a little nervous, because I dont quite know if it will be to the liking of people. Truth be told, I'm not very confident of the way I write. So I hope that people will like this story as much as I'm liking writing it.

P.S: Originally, the names of the main charecters were Giovanni and Enzo. So if you see either of these names, I'm very sorry. I was used to calling them by those names, but in the end i ended up changing them.

Now, please enjoy the story ^^

Chapter 1. ~Prologue~

Drake lay on his bed staring at the ceiling. His mind was foggy and he was trying to make sure it stayed that way. He was blasting Slipknot from his computer and didn’t care that his father was probably downstairs scowling at the ceiling.

He just didn’t want to think, but the music wasn’t working. Thoughts invaded his head and he groaned, turning to his side and stared out the window. His brain kept ringing with the words his next door neighbor had uttered in the park to him just a few hours ago.

As if on cue, the light to the room across from Drake’s turned on and all he could do shut his eyes, he could feel his cheeks burn with embarrassment. He could see the silhouette of a young man leaning against the window, with a disappointed sigh, Drake heard Damien close his window.

Three months earlier

The last semester of his junior year had been very rough on Drake. His grades were fine and colleges were tripping over each other with scholarships for him, however, he had had a miserable few months. His best friend moved away. They promised to keep in touch, but Drake knew that after his friend, Kyle, started college that it would be less and less the time they spent together. Also, the girl he liked rejected him on his birthday, so that really hurt his ego and confidence.

But the most tragic of all was the death of his mother. It had happened out of the nowhere, and now it was only him and his father left.

A week after his mother’s death, Drake found out that Kyle, his best friend, and the girl, who had rejected him, had been talking through the internet and had a long-distance relationship. Kyle didn’t say anything to Drake, other than sorry, and their friendship ended.

Drake fell into a deep depression as a result but instead of becoming ‘emo’ and apathetic, he became a workaholic, rarely sleeping and never socializing. He buried himself in his studies and separated himself from all the people he had a relationship with.

Drake kept a schedule, which consisted of going to school and going back home; until that day when he was stopped by his neighbor.

“Hey.” He heard someone mumbled, but Drake just kept on walking towards his house which was by the far woods of the neighborhood.

“Drew!” The voice yelled and Drake stopped and turned to face whoever was calling him. It had been years since people called him by his childhood nickname. A chill ran though his body but he dismissed it as soon as he felt it.

There in front of him stood a guy about a foot taller than him, wearing some black baggy jeans and a red t-shirt. Drake cocked his head to the side slightly and stared at the stranger.

It had been a while since Drake socialized with anyone that every time he talked his throat would be a little raspy. Clearing his throat once, he said “Do I know you?”

The guy standing in front of him raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “We’ve been neighbors for about five years, and you still ask me if you know me?”
