You smell like cotton candy
I smiled
Simply because that's all that I could seem to accomplish
My heart was soft delicate and sandy
His heart was the open ocean
Hitting the sand of my heart and making it strong enough to stick together
And I went home that night and i played Taylor Swift
Because every time I heard the heartwarming tune of her music it brought me back
Brought me Back to when we swung on the swings and used our fingers to paint our names
together in the sky
Your hugs were like honey
Your kisses even sweeter
The way you touched me -the sweetest.
You made me think,
Hey maybe I am in love.
Momma. I am in love.
And she just smiled because she knew
Oh she knew
But she didn't reveal the secrets of love until I
was old enough to drive
Drive down a long road of forbidden love and lust, trust, and deceit.
My love treated another the way he treated me
So I ignored Mr. Love and went home to think and play Taylor Swift
I Opened my window and looked at the dark shining sky
Where our names remained painted connected to the stars
And when my momma walked in my room and asked me
Why is your window open
I just laughed and said
Momma... I
Am in love.
