Athena Syren. A gorgeous nineteen--about turn twenty--year old, just graduated college, and just gotten heart-broken by a guy. She didn't need him, but yet felt so empty without him. Independent, you could call her! And she definitely was at times, but chose not to. A dominant young woman, standing up to everyone and for everyone. But yet she chooses to let everybody step on her. That will change, I hope.

And then there's Miles--Miles London. A seventeen-year-old, dropped out of highschool and now decided not to apply for college. Even sent to Juvie once, but that doesn't matter here. The thing is, Miles is going through just about the same thing Athena is here. A heartbreak--and yet by a girl younger than him. What a coincidence if the two meet one special September night on the streets of Munich?

Athena screamed into her pillow, gripping her sheets a bit too tight. Fuck, she thought, as she lifting her head up. The pillowcase was wet, and most likely stained with her tears. "How could he?" She mumbled, the image of Oliver's--her "ex boyfriend's" eyes welling up with tears as he told her the reasons why he wanted to break up. He wasn't cheating at all, he just felt like he needed a break. Yet, Athena couldn't stop herself from feeling that there's another.

She soon sat up, her head dropping down to her feet as she wiped the tears from her eyes and cheeks away. Her tank-top hung low on her chest, as he baggy sweat pants had multiple burn-holes in them from cigarettes. Addicted to tobacco, she is, and can't help herself from smoking. Her eyes lifting, staring at her wall of photos. She couldn't help but stare at the one's of her and Oliver.

She let herself stand up, her weak bones cracking in the process. But she wasn't skinny, or anorexic, she was even a bit chubby in a way. Just weak. She grabbed her auburn sweatshirt off the dresser and put it on, deciding to go on a walk for some fresh air. She enjoys the fresh-ness, as it gives her peace. She slowly walked downstairs, her body feeling restless. She grabbed her high-top Converse, putting them on.

As she stepped outside, the cold air hit her and she shivered slightly. Her messy, curly, brownish-blackish hair blew a bit in the wind, before she started to walk down the sidewalk. Her steps began slowly, but soon they gained enough speed for her to at least not look like a druggie as pedestrians walked by. She grabbed her old, dusty iPhone 6 from her sweatshirt pocket, checking it as she looked down.

Before she could look up from her phone, she bumped into a shorter, and younger looking guy. "Ah, shit, sorry..." She murmured, looking to the boy. He looked like a lost puppy. "No, it's okay!" He says quickly, instead blaming himself. Athena stared at the boy for a moment, before helping him stand up fully. "You're fine. What's your name?" She asks. "It's Miles..Wha-What about you?" He looks around for a moment.

"Athena. What are you doing out here? You look like you're still in middle school," She couldn't help but snicker slightly. "Middle school?" Miles asked, looking offended. "I'm supposed to be in college..." He mumbled. "Oh. My bad, sorry." She put her hands in her pockets. Miles stared at her, looking a bit embarrassed of nothing. "You look like a nice kid, do you want my number?" Athena asked, gazing at Miles.

"Huh?" He gasped out. "I asked if you wanted my number. Do you wanna be friends, Miles?" She gave a sarcastic frown. He thought for a moment, thinking back to Sylvia. Ex girlfriend. But he couldn't help himself from nodding to Athena like a dog obeying it's owner. "Gimme your phone then," "Right!" Miles quickly grabbed his phone from his pocket and giving it to Athena.

"A flip-phone? Really? That's so like--i don't even know." She laughs, examining it for a moment. Miles' face flushed red with embarrassment. "I-I don't have enough money for an iPhone..." He stutters, looking at the ground. Before he could say anything else, Athena had already put her number in his phone and given it back to him.

"That's alright. I don't really care, I was just playin'." She smiles, as Miles looks at her in awe. His heartbeat suddenly starts getting slightly faster, and his throat feels dry. God, she's beautiful, he thinks, staring at her for too long. "Well, Miles, I'll see you sometime. I-I gotta go." She puts her hand on his shoulder, before sliding past him. The way her fingertips slowly left Miles' shoulder made him shiver.

As Athena left, her mind was racing. "God, he was so cute." She whispered under her breath, swallowing.

Miles watched Athena leave him, his mouth dry but yet it felt so wet with saliva for no reason. His hands trembled as he watched her walk away, and he turned to walk home. His legs felt wobbly as he took his steps, feeling like he was using noodles to hold himself up.

They both ended up home later than they meant to be, as their steps were slow on the way back to home.

Athena closed the front door, taking off her sweatshirt and throwing it on the couch. She locked the door behind her, kicking off her shoes and sighs. After a minute of just complete silence and standing still, her phone goes off. She grabs it, checking who texted her. It was a number she didn't know of, figuring it was probably the boy she met out walking. The text read;

***-673-1283: hey is this Athena? its Miles...the boy u met while out walking...

After she read it, she decided to reply. A few minutes go by of them just texting each other, not paying attention to anything. She saved his number to her contacts. Their messages read;

You: yea its Athena :) whats up?

Miles: i just wanted to save ur number but i also wanted to make sure it was u

You: ok that's fine but im gonna go to sleep. do u wanna meet at Treepass Park tomorrow to hang?

Miles: sure...but I have a few questions!!

You: yea what is it?

Miles: how old are u? and are u single?

You: im 19 and yes im single why?

Miles: just asking goodnight!

You: alright... goodnight

Athena stared at her phone for a moment, thinking. Why the hell would Miles wanna know if she was single? They just met anyway. Her eyes widened slightly. "What the fuck am I doing?" She said after a moment, turning off her phone and sighing. She still wanted Oliver, but God, Miles was making her feel some type of way.

"A-And plus, Oliver said he just wanted a break. We'll probably be back together in less than a week, I'm sure of it..." She mumbled, looking down at her hands.

"We'll be back together..."

"I'm sure of it."
