The Damsel in Armour (On hold)

ღ Prologue ღ

In this dark night filled with hasty killing,there was still hope for everyone . Every now and then she looked down to see the child resting on her arms. The horse raced at full speed down the forest, away from all. The war was still going but, soon the kingdom will fall to the hands of the Red Queen. She irrevocably succeed on vanishing Lucratis, the kingdom that once protected the magical creatures and their powers.

The rain poured heavily against her, the heavens must have been sympathized with horrific cries of the people. She watched as the fire that consumed every house in the entire kingdom started to die with each raindrop that fell from the skies. Deep inside, she just wished that this would be a dream, that soon or later will vanish. But the wound on her left arm told her the opposite. Realization hit her, this was real.

Hours of constant riding came to an end, as the sun started to rise.She got down from the horse and lightly stroke his head giving him a sad smile.

She looked one last time at the child resting in her arms, a tear slipped from the corner of her eye “My child, when the time comes you will bring justice among this chaos. You will help your people rise and destroy the evil witch that calls herself the Red Queen and claim what is yours. May God will be with you now and forever” She kissed her forehead one last time before leaving her.  

She closed her eyes, before disappearing with the wind.

The rays of the sun peeked through the mountains meaning the start of a new day was ahead. The soldiers slowly started to retrieve and headed back home from the war. The Red Queen felt the satisfaction she was looking for, but she knew it would not last long for the words that the old lady said before dying  pierced through her head again and again.

"You may have succeed taking over this kingdom but heed my words for the heavens have hear our agonized cries. The child of the Queen still lives and the seal has been cast. The seal that could bring to life the dagger that could put an end to your life. When the right time comes, the girl will meet the prince  and the seal will become one. Then your time will be finally over"

And with the last ounce of magic left in her will she made a spell which would protect both, prince ,and princess as well. The Red Queen did not know the fate that awaited her son for there the old lady never told her the remaining truth.  Perhaps it was better to leave it that way. But a thing was certain, the Red Queen’s glory will soon vanish with all the evil and greed she possess.
