cigarettes

inhale exhale,
air coated with a mistful veil.
digging into me with it's teeth,
pressuring it's arms around my neck
while giving me a reassuring peck.
it helps me breathe.

it's running out.
making me want to cry and shout!
are you leaving me?
why do you hurt me?

burning too fast, the end is near.
inhale exhale.
it's flaming too close, my biggest fear.
my heart is pale,
the blood leaked out of it.
my throat is lit.
i'm on fire burning.

lying on the floor,
i want more.
one last time,
would it be a crime?
inhale exhale,
goodbye my dearest friend,
you helped me breathe.
