AS THE PURSUIT BETWEEN POLICE AND MOTORCYCLISTS continued, the latter's ride abruptly darted down a narrow side street, making a sharp turn and vanishing into the darkness before the pursuing car could follow.

The police officers in the car both shouted out, "Whoa!" in surprise as Sergeant Fisher slammed his large foot down on the brake, believing that the person riding double on the motorbike would surely be flung beneath their vehicle's wheels.

However, the motorbike made the turn without any mishap, and with a wink of its red tail light, vanished into the night.

"We've got 'em now!" PC Anderson shouted excitedly as the police officers were suddenly certain of their chances of capturing the individuals on the motorbike.

"That's a dead end!"

Sergeant Fisher immediately responded by leaning hard on the steering wheel and forcefully changing their gears, scraping against the sides of the vehicle as he forced it up the alleyway in pursuit of the escaping occupants.

The pursuit finally concluded as the motorcycle riders were left trapped between a towering brick wall and the pursuing police car.

The two riders remained immobile, the result of their frenetic flight coming to an end after nearly a full quarter of an hour of evasion.
