Chapter 81

The leader wrapped Da Wu’s ear in a piece of animal skin and threw it to the man with the black scar on the side.

The man with the black scar took it and immediately got up, disappearing into the darkness of the night outside the cave with another man.

The other people’s eyes were shining with excitement, as they gathered together, talking non-stop. Mu Qing occasionally heard words she knew, “fur”, “millet seeds”. Those were often mentioned in the settlement.

The light of the fire gradually faded out. The sound of snoring resounded in the cave. Apart from a sitting night watcher at the entrance of the cave, all the other men fell asleep on the ground.

She wondered how much of a coincidence it was that they happened to show up near her and Da Wu, it looked like they had been tailing behind them.

But in any case, it seemed that she and Da Wu’s lives were probably safe for now, and judging from how the man with the black scar was kicked away before, she didn’t have to worry about being violated for now, though she couldn’t figure out why.

At dawn, rain was pouring. The group did not postpone their journey because of the bad weather and continued on their way, taking Mu Qing and Da Wu along. They didn’t arrive until it was dark again. Indistinctly, Mu Qing could see the shadows of a lot of people moving towards them.

Before Mu Qing could see more, she was carried along with Da Wu, and was locked into what seemed to be a cave once again. Inside the darkness, she could still feel that this place was not very big. It was full of pungent stench.

Mu Qing had not eaten anything since yesterday. It was fortunate that it had been raining today, so she had opened her mouth on the way to drink a lot of rainwater, and now she was not thirsty.
